Overview

Rocketship Public Schools runs tuition-free public charter elementary schools for children in underserved communities across California, Wisconsin, Tennessee, and Washington, DC. Its teaching model combines whole-class lessons with small-group tutoring and adaptive online practice tailored to each student's progress. Teachers specialize in humanities or science, technology, engineering, and math, while families help shape school activities and take part in home visits. The nonprofit network receives public education funding and charitable contributions to support its schools and shared services. Founded in 2006, Rocketship lists its national office in San Jose, California.
