RoomPriceGenie expands in Thailand as hotels face pricing pressure. 19.08.2026 RoomPriceGenie expands its presence in Thailand through Ultsch Consult as hotels face lower occupancy, rising supply and increasing demand for technology-driven revenue management solutions. Hotel revenue management in Thailand is becoming a growing focus as declining occupancy and increasing room supply put pressure on hotel performance in 2026. Swiss revenue management provider RoomPriceGenie has appointed Ultsch Consult to support its market development in Thailand from August 2026. The partnership aims to expand RoomPriceGenie's presence among independent hotels and regional hotel groups nationwide. Ultsch Consult will support local market engagement and help translate revenue management technology into solutions suited to Thai hotel operations. Thailand hotels face changing market conditions. Thailand recorded around 32.97 million international visitors in 2025, a decline of 7.23% from the previous year. According to the data provided, international arrivals remained 3.11% below the previous-year level through early July 2026. The Tourism Authority of Thailand has revised its 2026 international arrival forecast to between 30 and 34 million visitors. For hotels, changing demand patterns are affecting key operating indicators, including occupancy, average daily rates and RevPAR. NepalTourism Potential According to Cushman & Wakefield Thailand, Bangkok's hotel occupancy declined to 73% in the second quarter of 2026 from 77% in the previous quarter. During the same period, RevPAR decreased 7% to THB 2,672. In Phuket's luxury and upscale hotel segment, occupancy reached 80% in the first half of 2026, compared with 84.1% in the same period of the previous year. Average daily rate declined 4% to THB 6,820, while RevPAR dropped 8.7%. A March 2026 survey conducted by the Thai Hotels Association and the Bank of Thailand, involving 138 properties nationwide, showed that almost half of hotels expected room rates to decline in the second quarter of 2026. Around one in seven respondents expected reductions of more than 10%. Technology focus increases as pricing becomes more complex. Florian Ultsch, Founder and CEO of Ultsch Consult, said: "The market isn't growing right now - and that's exactly why this topic matters. As long as hotels were full, owners could set prices based on experience. That doesn't work anymore when occupancy is falling and supply is growing at the same time. I regularly sit with owners who manage their rates through a spreadsheet and a glance at OTA results. That's not negligence, it's a resourcing issue - and it costs more in a downturn than in a boom." According to Mordor Intelligence, the country's hospitality industry is projected to reach USD 24.53 billion in 2026 and grow to USD 36.26 billion by 2031. Independent hotels continue to represent a significant part of the market, while larger hotel groups continue to expand their presence. However, adoption of dedicated revenue management systems remains limited globally. According to Skift Research, around 10% of hoteliers worldwide use specialised revenue management systems. Local partnership model for market expansion. RoomPriceGenie already supports individual hotels in Thailand. Through its partnership with Ultsch Consult, the company aims to develop a broader presence across the market. Ultsch Consult will focus on connecting with independent hotels and regional operators, supporting discussions with potential users and adapting the technology's value proposition to local business requirements. André Kaufmann, Head of Global Partnerships at RoomPriceGenie, said: "Decisions in Southeast Asia's independent hotel sector run on relationships, not forms. We can build a product that works for independently owned properties - but we can't build trust from a distance. That takes someone who lives in the market, knows the operators, and speaks the owners' language. That's exactly why we chose this approach." The company said the Thai market offers opportunities for technology providers focused on independent hotels, as adoption doesn't depend only on international hotel chains. Supporting independent hotel operators. Leon Pijpers, Chief Commercial Officer at RoomPriceGenie, said: "Our system works whether you're pricing your first room night or you've been managing revenue for years and know exactly what you need. A downturn is the right time to bring a system onboard, not the wrong one. It tracks where demand is moving and adjusts before you have to guess. Bringing Florian and the Ultsch Consult team on board gives Thai hoteliers a partner who knows this market from the ground up, and we couldn't be more excited about what that makes possible." Through the collaboration, RoomPriceGenie and Ultsch Consult will focus on supporting hotels seeking data-based pricing decisions and automated revenue management tools as market conditions continue to evolve. RoomPriceGenie launches Revenue Intelligence to embed real-time pricing insights directly into the PMS. The new feature empowers hoteliers to make more accurate, revenue-led operational decisions. Steinhausen, Switzerland - RoomPriceGenie - developer of an innovative, award-winning revenue management system (RMS) used by more than 4,000 hotels and groups worldwide - is proud to introduce Revenue Intelligence, which surfaces real-time revenue insights and market data directly in the PMS dashboards of 15 launch partners. Revenue Intelligence ensures that hotels' operational teams have constant visibility into real-time pricing signals, without switching between tabs or solutions, keeping commercial and operational decisions aligned around a real-time view of performance. In recent years, hotels have had to operate with leaner teams while responding to faster and less predictable demand patterns. Revenue management needs to be embedded in everyday decision-making to drive the best results. Revenue Intelligence gives hoteliers a new way to engage with revenue insights directly inside the PMS, where operational decisions happen - giving hoteliers a clear competitive advantage. Chas Scarantino, CEO of RoomPriceGenie Through a fast and easy integration, Revenue Intelligence delivers real-time alerts, monthly occupancy and pricing views with clear explanations, and key revenue performance metrics - all within the PMS dashboard. If necessary, hoteliers can access RoomPriceGenie from the PMS with a single click to adjust rates. This integrated visibility helps hoteliers stay in control and enables proactive action, without adding extra manual work. Beyond day-to-day operational benefits, Revenue Intelligence helps teams pivot to embrace the hospitality industry's recent shift toward unsiloed, commercially driven operations. The trend in the PMS landscape has been clearly moving towards more integrated technology. But at the same time, Revenue Management is a very specialised field, and a stand-alone product, like RoomPriceGenie, is necessary to get the best results. Due to the high level of trust its PMS partners have in its RMS and the dedication of its team, it made sense for them to partner with HITEC Charlotte on the development of Revenue Intelligence, as it gives them a viable way to meet hoteliers' expectations, without diverting time or resources away from their core platform strategy. By embedding a critical layer of revenue context directly into the PMS, HITEC Charlotte is supporting a shift toward smarter, more connected operational processes that help hoteliers manage their properties proactively in real-time, as market conditions change. Ari Andricopoulos, Chief Strategy Officer & Co-Founder of RoomPriceGenie The market has already begun to move accordingly. Revenue Intelligence is launching with 15 forward-thinking PMS partners - including RMS, Planet, Ibelsa, Casablanca, Apaleo, SabeeApp, HopSoftware, Avondata / Rezcontrol, FreetoBook, VIPS, Preno, Resly, Suitech, Class One, and HotelSync - with multiple implementations already underway.
