SDB Groep, a Dutch care and childcare software provider, has acquired German software specialist buchner, creating a prominent player across the Netherlands, Scandinavia and Germany. The transaction marks SDB's entry into the strategically important German care software market. Buchner brings a customer base of over 8,000 care institutions and therapists, specialising in ambulatory and therapeutic care software. The acquisition complements SDB's AI-supported suite of electronic patient records, personnel planning and analytics solutions. The deal is supported by Main Capital Partners, SDB's strategic investor since 2018, as part of a pan-European buy-and-build strategy. Both companies see significant cross-selling opportunities, with buchner's 35-year expertise in practice management software combining with SDB's broader HR and planning modules.
