New 'destination Porsche' dealership coming to Birmingham's Triangle District.

New 'destination Porsche' dealership coming to Birmingham's Triangle District. REDICO, a real estate owner, investor, and developer in Southfield, today announced it's actively leading the redevelopment of Fred Lavery Porsche in Birmingham following the completed demolition of the dealership's former facility at 34350 Woodward Ave. (across from the 555 Building). March 17, 2026 REDICO, a real estate owner, investor, and developer in Southfield, today announced it's actively leading the redevelopment of Fred Lavery Porsche in Birmingham following the completed demolition of the dealership's former facility at 34350 Woodward Ave. (across from the 555 Building). Construction now is underway on a new, three-story, state-of-the-art dealership designed to embody the "Destination Porsche" global design philosophy, with reopening planned for 2027. During construction, the Porsche sales and service operations have been temporarily relocated to Fred Lavery's other dealership in town, Audi Birmingham, located at 34602 Woodward Ave. (two blocks north of the Porsche site). Destination Porsche is Porsche's global dealership concept, set to be "an inviting, flexible space designed as a central gathering point for the Porsche community. Using digital media and adaptive architecture, it delivers personalized communication and an immersive brand experience for both existing and future customers." The redevelopment will replace the long-standing Woodward Avenue location with a modern facility that significantly expands the showroom, service operations, and onsite parking. The project also included the demolition of adjacent structures along Haynes Street, enabling a reconfigured site layout that supports both operational efficiency and an elevated customer experience. REDICO engaged Detroit-based Sachse Construction as the general contractor and Albert Kahn Associates and LZG as architect of record. "Projects like this highlight how REDICO's development expertise allows us to meet our clients' evolving needs, especially when those needs involve sophisticated technology and experiential components," says Dale Watchowski, president and CEO at REDICO. "Porsche's vision requires precision, coordination, and a deep understanding of complex development." Shane Lavery, president of U.S. Autogroup Ltd., says for more than 40 years, Fred Lavery Porsche has been part of the fabric of Birmingham. "Breaking ground on this project marks an important milestone as we invest in a world-class facility that will deliver an incredible retail experience for our customers," Lavery says. "We are proud to contribute to the long-envisioned revitalization of the Birmingham Triangle District and the continued growth of our community." Construction will continue through 2027, when the new Porsche dealership is expected to open.
