FORE Biotherapeutics has closed an upsized $67.4 million Series D-2 extension financing, bringing total Series D-2 funding to $110 million. The round was co-led by SR One, Medicxi, and SymBiosis, with participation from new investors including TaiAx, LG Technology Ventures, Primer Ventures, and Axil, alongside existing backers. The registration-stage oncology company will use proceeds to advance late-stage development of plixorafenib, its lead BRAF inhibitor for cancer treatment. FORE has reached target enrollment in the BRAF V600E primary CNS tumour basket of its FORTE study, with topline results expected around end of 2026. Plixorafenib received Breakthrough Therapy Designation from the FDA in April 2026. The company plans a regulatory submission in 2027 for BRAF V600E CNS tumours and continues evaluating the therapy in rare BRAF V600 mutated solid tumours and advanced solid tumours with BRAF fusions.
Samsung SDS has expanded its partnership with Google Cloud, adding Gemini Enterprise to its Samsung Cloud Platform and integrating Google's Wiz security platform with its security operations. The agreement builds on Samsung SDS's fastest-growing business segment — its cloud unit, which saw revenue rise 15.4% to 2.7 trillion won ($1.9 billion) in 2025. The deal broadens Samsung SDS's AI offerings following a December 2025 ChatGPT Enterprise reseller partnership with OpenAI, described as the first of its kind among Korean companies. The Google partnership provides Samsung SDS access to South Korea's regulated government market, where it has piloted workplace collaboration tools in three government organisations since November 2025. The move positions Samsung SDS as an AI integrator for enterprise customers whilst offsetting weakness in its logistics division.
FriendliAI is partnering with Samsung SDS to deliver frontier model AI inference services using Samsung Cloud Platform's NVIDIA B300 GPU infrastructure. The collaboration combines FriendliAI's optimised inference stack with Samsung SCP's scalable GPU resources to serve global startups and enterprises. The partnership will enable customers to run frontier open-weight models, including GLM MiniMax M2.5, NVIDIA Nemotron 3 Super and DeepSeek v3.2, with production-grade reliability. FriendliAI's platform offers speeds up to three times faster than vLLM and 50% to 90% cost savings compared to closed model APIs. Customers will access the service through FriendliAI's Serverless Endpoints with token-based pricing, whilst benefiting from Samsung SCP's high-availability GPU infrastructure. The collaboration aims to maximise GPU utilisation whilst delivering cost-effective scalability for AI workloads.
Global investment firm KKR has agreed to acquire 1.22 trillion won ($820 million) of convertible bonds newly issued by Samsung SDS in a strategic partnership. The investment aims to support the Korean company's growth in AI transformation and other key areas. The deal represents a minority stake acquisition designed to bolster Samsung SDS's position and drive long-term value creation as the firm enters its next phase of expansion.
KKR has announced an investment of 1.22 trillion Korean won (approximately $820 million) in Samsung SDS through the acquisition of convertible bonds. The investment will be made through KKR-managed funds. Under the partnership agreement, KKR will collaborate closely with Samsung SDS on value-creation initiatives, including supporting organic and inorganic growth strategies, accelerating the company's expansion as a full-stack AI solutions provider, and developing new business areas. KKR will also provide advisory services to Samsung SDS management, particularly in mergers and acquisitions, capital allocation, and supporting the company's pursuit of global strategic growth opportunities.
