Scientific Games will modernise retail operations for Western Canada Lottery Corporation's network of over 5,000 retailers across Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba. Under the new contract, the company will provide WAVE point-of-sale terminals, PlayCentral self-service kiosks featuring AI and advanced analytics, and retailer terminal software. The technology upgrade aims to enhance player engagement and strengthen retail performance across the region. WCLC generated sales of more than $1.56 billion in 2025, returning over $481 million to its members. Scientific Games has partnered with WCLC since 1999, providing the lottery's central gaming system and sports wagering platform. The company now supplies retail systems to more than 70 lotteries worldwide, including three Canadian lotteries.

Scientific Games announces retirement of CEO Pat McHugh. Tuesday, August 4th, 2026 Scientific Games announces that Chief Executive Officer Pat McHugh will retire on September 8, 2026, following more than 20 years with the company. The Board of Directors has appointedKevin Schneider as Interim CEO, effective upon McHugh's retirement, as it conducts a search for a permanent successor. Following his retirement, McHugh will remain with Scientific Games in an advisory role as Vice Chair to support a seamless leadership transition. "On behalf of the Board, I want to thank Pat for his leadership and his many contributions to Scientific Games over the past two decades," said David Nowak, Chairman, Scientific Games and President, Brookfield's Private Equity Group. "Throughout his career, Pat has helped strengthen the company, expand its global lottery business and build trusted relationships with customers around the world. Kevin Schneider has been confirmed as the Interim CEO, stepping up from the role of Vice Chair which will now be filled by McHugh.
