Scythe Robotics provides autonomous mowing solutions for the commercial landscaping market. Its flagship product, the M.52, is a battery-powered autonomous mower designed to perform mowing tasks without human operators, freeing up landscaping crews to focus on other tasks. The mower runs on electric motors with all-day battery life and low noise, offering emission-free operation. The company uses a usage-based or subscription pricing model described as "machines that only bill when they’re working," aligning revenue with customer utilization and efficiency. Scythe targets commercial clients such as property management firms, municipalities, and large landscapers, differentiating itself by combining autonomous technology, green engineering, and a customer-centric, pay-per-use business model. The goal is to transform the commercial landscaping industry by delivering scalable, energy-efficient, autonomous mowing that reduces labor needs and environmental impact for its customers.

Autonomous Solutions Inc. acquires Scythe Robotics to expand ai-powered autonomy. LM Staff Published Mar 11, 2026 | Updated Mar 11, 2026 Photo: Scythe Robotics Autonomous Solutions Inc (ASI), a leader of industrial vehicle automation and developer of the Mobius autonomous fleet management system, acquired Scythe Robotics, a Colorado-based developer of advanced, commercial-grade autonomous solutions for the landscape industry. The deal brings Scythe's onboard intelligence and proprietary computer vision system, Scythe Sight, to ASI's product offerings in industrial environments, like construction and agriculture, while bolstering Scythe's growing deployments of M.52, its all-electric, autonomous commercial mower. "With complementary values and missions, both Scythe and ASI build autonomy that shows up every day, in the real world, and delivers labor leverage for customers who can't afford downtime," said Jack Morrison, Scythe's cofounder and CEO. "This newly established partnership will multiply our state-of-the-art autonomy's impact across the industries ASI serves. Further, customers mowing with Scythe M.52 today will benefit from ASI's scale, operational maturity, and decades of success in off-road robotics." "ASI has over 25 years of deploying autonomy where reliability and safety aren't just features but requirements," said ASI CEO Mel Torrie. "Scythe's AI technology will play a critical role in helping us develop the next generation of autonomous equipment across diverse industrial sectors. Equally important, the team at Scythe maintains a culture in sync with ASI - one that puts people first and strives to develop them - bringing a fresh perspective to our pursuit of those ambitions. Scythe's experience fielding nationwide deployments and its best-in-class account management program will help ASI's growth and great customer service in our other verticals." Scythe, located in Longmont, Colo., was founded in 2018 and dedicated to build the tools needed to sustainably care for outdoor spaces. The company's electric, autonomous commercial mower, Scythe M.52, achieved its highest productivity yet in 2025, mowing nearly 2 billion square feet for dozens of customers across 30 states. Scythe and its team will continue to operate as an equipment brand within ASI Landscaping, while members of Scythe's leadership will transition into roles at ASI to support technology integration and advance the growth objectives of both commercial visions. ASI will maintain Scythe's Longmont office alongside its growing footprint in Utah and Texas.
