Shapeways has acquired a majority stake in Thangs, a 3D file sharing and discovery platform, to enhance its creator ecosystem. This acquisition aims to modernize Shapeways' infrastructure and integrate Thangs' IP protection technology. Thangs will become a subsidiary, Thangs 3D Inc., while maintaining its identity. The collaboration allows Thangs designers to sell physical products via Shapeways, expanding revenue opportunities and fostering a seamless 3D creation ecosystem.
