Overview

Silver Cross Hospital is an independent nonprofit hospital serving adults and children in Will County and Chicago's southwest suburbs. Its emergency department is a Level II trauma center, and its maternity services include intensive care for premature and high-risk newborns. Partnerships bring UChicago Medicine cancer care, Lurie Children's neonatal specialists and Shirley Ryan AbilityLab rehabilitation to its campus. Patients also use outpatient testing, physician offices, urgent care centers and a freestanding emergency center in Homer Glen, with hospital surgery and specialty care available on the main campus. Opened in Joliet in 1895, Silver Cross is headquartered in New Lenox, Illinois.
