SSilverado provides memory care and hospice services in a continuum-of-care senior living model. It operates company-owned residential communities and a hospice/palliative care division, earning revenue from private-pay residential fees and hospice services. Silverado’s core offering is its Nexus® program, a research-based memory care initiative designed to improve cognitive function, supported by dementia-friendly, purpose-built communities with features like natural lighting, memory boxes, and safe outdoor spaces to promote engagement. The company differentiates itself through a focused specialization in memory impairment, a proven cognitive-boosting program, and an integrated care continuum that includes dedicated end-of-life services. Silverado aims to improve quality of life for people with dementia and related conditions, reduce reliance on medications by prioritizing engagement, and provide dignified care across life stages from memory care housing to hospice.

Silverado, a nationally recognized memory care provider, has reacquired Silverado Aspen Park in Salt Lake City, marking its return to a market it served for nearly 20 years. The community, located at 1430 East 4500 South, officially rejoined Silverado on 1 September. The company brings enhanced dementia care programmes to the facility. Its Nexus brain health programme, validated by research with UC San Diego, showed a 60% improvement in cognition amongst participating residents. Silverado's Memory Air programme, which uses olfactory stimulation during sleep, demonstrated a 226% improvement in cognitive performance in university research. Silverado became the first long-term care provider worldwide to receive Alzheimer's Disease International Accreditation for its dementia care training. The company operates 28 memory care communities across 11 US states.
Silverado has announced a leadership transition effective 1 July 2026. Wayne Sanner has assumed the role of chief executive officer and president, whilst founder Loren Shook has moved to executive chairman, where he will continue to provide strategic guidance full-time. Shook founded Silverado nearly three decades ago, building it into an organisation recognised for memory care, hospice, and supportive care services. Sanner brings operational experience from leading large skilled nursing companies over 25 years in the post-acute sector. The transition aims to maintain continuity whilst positioning Silverado for continued growth. The company, established in 1996, operates as a nationally recognised provider of person-centred care services across the US.
