Higharc raises $95M Series C to scale AI platform for homebuilding and supply chain

Higharc, an AI platform for homebuilding, has raised $95 million in a Series C round led by Insight Partners, bringing total funding to over $170 million. The company also announced a partnership with US LBM, America's largest private lumber and building materials distributor. Higharc's platform automates design, estimating and sales workflows for homebuilders, generating homes as spatial databases rather than traditional CAD files. Customers report compressing product development timelines from months to weeks, cutting time to community opening by 25-50%, and increasing margins by 10-15%. The funding will scale product development and expand Higharc's AI estimating capabilities to building materials distributors. The company's AutoTranslate AI converts floorplan images into 3D spatial data models, generating precise material quantity estimates for the supply chain.

Retrofit bolts now come in new diameters, lengths.

Retrofit bolts now come in new diameters, lengths. Simpson Strong-Tie is extending its lineup of RFB retrofit bolts with new diameters and additional lengths in Grade 36 rod, as well as launching Grade 55 and 105 and Stainless Steel 304 and 316. The precut and pre-cleaned threaded rods come fully assembled with nut and washer to save time on the job site while providing seamless anchoring, when paired with anchoring adhesives, into existing concrete and masonry. What sets the RFBs apart is the clear marking of their product specs: Each end of the threaded rod is stamped with rod length in inches (for 1/2-inch diameters and greater) and color-coded to indicate the grade or type of steel for quick and easy identification. When used with a Simpson Strong-Tie adhesive, they offer a complete engineered anchoring system. The expanded lineup of RFB retrofit bolts now comes with a 3/8-inch diameter option, as well as new shorter lengths for the 1/2-, 5/8- and 3/4-inch-diameter bolts. These sizes are all available in multiple steel grades, each with its specific color coding, to meet various capacity needs: · Grade 36 (carbon steel, zinc or hot-dipped galvanized, aka HDG): Blue. The go-to for standard-duty versatility. - Grade 55 (carbon steel, zinc): Yellow. For boosted strength when needed. - Grade 105 (carbon steel, zinc or HDG): Red. Heavy-duty power. - Type 304 (stainless steel): Burgundy. Corrosion resistance for most external environments. - Type 316 (stainless steel): Light blue. Ultimate corrosion resistance for exposure to moisture or chemicals. The line also includes 7/8- and 1-inch diameters in zinc-plated carbon steel.

Simpson Strong-Tie Introduces PFUD(TM) Post Frame Undersaddle Hangers for Easier, Faster Layout

Simpson Strong-Tie introduces PFUD(TM) post frame undersaddle hangers for easier, faster layout. Simpson Strong-Tie, the leader in engineered structural connectors and building solutions, is simplifying post frame construction with the launch of two PFUD(TM) undersaddle hangers. The hangers feature a two-sided design so that one hanger supports ceiling joists on each side of a truss instead of requiring a separate face-mounted hanger for each joist. The continuous seat fits snugly under the truss's bottom chord, automatically aligning parts vertically for an easier, faster layout. For single-side applications, installers simply bend and separate the hanger along the perforations to create two face-mounted options. "PFUD undersaddle hangers are extremely versatile, streamlining installation to reduce connector layout labor costs by half versus using two face-mounted hangers," said Randy Daudet, group product manager for Simpson Strong-Tie. "At the same time, the hangers offer greater reliability and load capacity than toenailed ceiling joists." The hangers are fully tested and code listed. They're load rated for joist tension forces, so they're ideal with ceiling panels acting as diaphragms or for bottom-chord truss bracing. Two options are available: The PFUD24 fits one-ply trusses, and the PFUDS24 fits two-ply trusses.
