Skylo Technologies provides satellite-based connectivity solutions that enable constant communication for devices in remote locations. By partnering with existing satellite providers, Skylo extends coverage without the need to build its own satellites, allowing for a more affordable service. This is particularly beneficial for industries like energy, logistics, and healthcare, where operations often occur in isolated areas. Skylo's services include two-way GPS and messaging, which are crucial for monitoring the electrical grid, ensuring the safety of remote workers, and facilitating critical deliveries such as vaccines. The company's goal is to enhance communication in hard-to-reach areas, making it easier for individuals and businesses to stay connected.

During this year's CES event, HMD and its satellite partners Viasat and Skylo launched the HMD OffGrid hotspot device, which uses L-band satellite radio spectrum to connect Android and iOS users directly to satellites.
HMD has partnered with satellite providers Viasat and Skylo to access their satellite networks, according to CNet.
This collaboration will integrate Skylo's satellite network into Cubic's connectivity platform, expanding its capabilities to include satellite-based global coverage.
To enable the seamless roaming of the user equipment between the 5G terrestrial access networks and satellite access networks, Skylo's commercially available non-terrestrial network was integrated into Cosmote's production network.
