Snowflake reported second-quarter revenue of $1.55 billion, beating analyst expectations of $1.48 billion and marking a 35.1% year-on-year increase. The cloud data platform provider's non-GAAP earnings per share of $0.62 also surpassed consensus estimates of $0.45 by 38.7%. The company's adjusted operating income reached $237 million, exceeding forecasts of $185.9 million. Following the results, Snowflake's stock jumped 22.3%. The company now serves 828 customers paying more than $1 million annually and maintains a net revenue retention rate of 126%. Snowflake guided third-quarter product revenue to $1.59 billion at the midpoint. Despite strong performance, the company's free cash flow margin declined to 5.4% from 16.7% in the previous quarter. Analysts project 26.3% revenue growth over the next 12 months.
Sayari has rebuilt its Commercial World Model on Snowflake's AI Data Cloud, making over a decade of deep web records accessible for AI analysis. The platform now processes 12 billion records from 715 sources across 250 jurisdictions, including roughly 1 billion original documents such as corporate filings and shipping records. The rebuild enables Sayari to capture up to 75% of previously unreadable information from its archive using AI techniques. The company expects the migration to reduce data infrastructure costs by more than 50%. Sayari collects data directly from official sources in over 20 languages, much of which exists nowhere else in accessible form. The Commercial World Model helps customers identify company ownership, detect supply chain risks, and surface risk intelligence patterns. Sayari's clients include Fortune 100 companies, US Customs and Border Protection, and UK HM Revenue & Customs across more than 35 countries.
Cantor Fitzgerald raised Snowflake's price target to $405 from $282 whilst maintaining an Overweight rating ahead of the company's fiscal Q2 2027 earnings on 2 September. However, analyst Thomas Blakey expects a narrower beat than last quarter. Snowflake's fiscal Q1 2027 showed product revenue up 34% year-over-year to $1.3 billion, with net revenue retention reaching 126%. AI capabilities were used by more than 13,600 accounts, whilst Cortex Code had around 7,100 accounts. Cantor projects product revenue will beat guidance by 3%, compared to last quarter's 5.5% beat. The concern is whether incremental AI consumption can offset cost optimisations as customers consolidate spending.
CrowdStrike has announced a collaboration with Snowflake to make its Falcon platform available through Snowflake Marketplace. Customers can use pre-committed Snowflake capacity to purchase the AI-native security platform through the Marketplace Capacity Drawdown programme. The partnership aims to break down data silos by enabling federated search to bring Snowflake data directly into Falcon investigations. Falcon Next-Gen SIEM will correlate Snowflake data with security telemetry, whilst Falcon Onum will route security telemetry to Snowflake. "Security teams need the freedom to put their data to work wherever it lives," said Daniel Bernard, chief business officer at CrowdStrike. The collaboration is designed to simplify procurement and accelerate detection, investigation, and response capabilities for enterprise customers.
Brad Gerstner's Altimeter Capital and Cathie Wood's ARK Investment Management both hold positions in Snowflake and Robinhood, according to second-quarter 13F filings. Gerstner holds 1.9 million Snowflake shares, representing 4.99% of his portfolio, whilst Wood opened a new position with 269,539 shares. For Robinhood, Gerstner maintained 899,691 shares (0.92% of portfolio), while Wood trimmed her stake by 13% to roughly 5.24 million shares. Snowflake's fiscal Q1 2027 revenue grew 33% year over year, with product revenue jumping 34%. The cloud data platform company raised full-year guidance to imply 31% growth, up from 27% previously. However, the stock trades at a forward non-GAAP P/E of 167.82, significantly above the sector median of 23.15, raising valuation concerns amongst bears.
