Samsung Acquires Sonio for €86M

Samsung's medical equipment division has completed the acquisition of French AI ultrasound startup Sonio for €86 million. Sonio, founded in 2020, developed an AI assistant to enhance ultrasound scans and recently received FDA approval for Sonio Detect. Despite the acquisition, Sonio will remain an independent company headquartered in France and continue to ensure compatibility with all ultrasound devices. Sonio had previously raised a total of $27.2 million.
