The company offers specialized digital asset insurance products for financial institutions, including, Directors &Officers (D&O), Professional Indemnity (PI), Crime, Specie, Slashing and Smart Contract Failure coverage, uniquely denominated in both fiat and native digital assets. The new funding will support the continued expansion of Soter Insure, deepening its underwriting and technology capabilities and scaling operations across key markets. "Our mission at Soter is to set a new standard for risk management in the digital asset space. Reaching the first close of our Series B - with Galaxy leading again and new partners like Coinbase Ventures and Franklin Templeton joining alongside the continued support of Brevan Howard Digital - is a powerful validation of the platform we are building and the network effect of our strategic capital stack. Special thanks to Galaxy Digital for their vision and leadership in continuing to support us with the ability to provide solutions at institutional scale. With this capital we will accelerate our product roadmap, expand capacity, and extend our global footprint, and we look forward to welcoming further partners at our second close," said Henson Orser, Founder and CEO of Soter Insure. Chris Ferraro, President and CIO of Galaxy said: "Insurance remains a key gap to institutional adoption of digital assets, and Soter has built a platform that closes it. We're proud to lead this round again, and our continued investment reflects the strength of the team and the growing importance of specialized risk solutions for this asset class."
Soter Insure has received full authorisation from the Dubai Financial Services Authority as a Category 4 licence for insurance intermediation. The approval establishes the company's regulated presence in the Dubai International Financial Centre, enabling it to provide institutional-grade insurance services for digital asset clients across the Middle East and North Africa. The DFSA licence allows Soter to offer its full suite of institutional coverages, including Directors & Officers, Professional Indemnity, Crime, Specie and Slashing insurance. Selected policies can be denominated in Bitcoin and Ether, addressing asset-liability mismatches for institutional participants. The authorisation complements Soter's existing Bermuda Class IIGB licence, completing an end-to-end regulated architecture for institutional digital asset insurance across major jurisdictions. The company has raised $295 million to date.
Soter Insure has launched the world's first Ethereum-denominated slashing insurance policy, developed in collaboration with Galaxy Digital. The product provides institutional validators and stakers with protection against slashing penalties denominated entirely in ETH, eliminating currency mismatch risks present in traditional fiat-denominated policies. Slashing refers to penalties imposed on Ethereum validators for protocol violations. Traditional insurance capped coverage in US dollars, exposing institutions to losses if ETH prices increased during the policy period. Soter's product denominates both premiums and claims in ETH, ensuring protection scales with staked asset values. The policy covers financial losses from both isolated and network-wide slashing events. The launch positions Soter to support the development of staked ETH exchange-traded funds by providing native-asset settlement that removes basis risk.
Soter Insure has partnered with Dubai Insurance P.S.C. to offer digital asset insurance policies in the UAE. The collaboration enables coverage denominated in Bitcoin and Ether, alongside traditional fiat currency, eliminating asset-liability mismatch and price volatility risks for customers. The partnership combines Soter's digital asset insurance expertise with Dubai Insurance's established market presence. Policies ensure policyholders receive full value protection regardless of market conditions at claim time, addressing unique challenges facing digital asset holders and institutions. For Dubai Insurance, the alliance strengthens its position in the UAE's digital assets ecosystem. For Soter, backed by investors including Galaxy Digital, it marks significant geographical expansion into the UAE's progressive regulatory environment. The partnership is effective immediately, with both companies deploying comprehensive digital asset insurance solutions across the UAE market.
