Sparq appoints Barry Newton as chief sales officer.

Sparq appoints Barry Newton as chief sales officer. Veteran enterprise AI executive brings two decades of experience helping Fortune 500 companies operationalize AI to drive measurable business outcomes ATLANTA, GA / ACCESS Newswire / May 14, 2026 / Sparq, the AI-Native engineering partner built to re-engineer the operating systems where margin is won or lost, today announced the appointment of Barry Newton as chief sales officer (CSO). Newton joins Sparq's executive leadership team as the company continues to scale its capabilities in response to growing enterprise demand for operational systems built for AI-era execution. Newton brings more than two decades of enterprise technology experience, most recently leading AI-driven growth at Unsupervised, where he served as executive vice president of strategic accounts. In that role, he helped Fortune 500 clients move beyond AI experimentation and toward data-driven decision-making embedded directly into business operations. His prior leadership positions include senior vice president and chief revenue officer at Nexient, and vice president of sales and marketing at UST Global. "Over the last several years, I've seen a major shift in what organizations actually need from transformation partners," said Newton. "The companies creating real advantages with AI aren't the ones adding more tools or more complexity. They're redesigning how execution happens in the systems where margin is won or lost. That's what drew me to Sparq. This is a company built for AI-era execution, with the engineering talent, operational rigor and applied intelligence to help enterprises move beyond pilots and toward measurable business outcomes." As CSO, Newton will lead Sparq's sales organization and help enterprises move beyond isolated AI pilots and toward operational systems that continuously improve business performance at scale. "Organizations no longer want armies of consultants managing complexity around AI initiatives," said Ingrid Curtis, CEO of Sparq. "They want smaller, highly capable teams that can move fast, solve hard operational problems and deliver measurable outcomes. Barry understands that shift deeply. He brings a rare combination of enterprise experience, operational discipline and clarity around where AI creates real economic value." Newton's appointment follows continued expansion across Sparq's executive leadership team, as the company continues scaling its AI-native engineering and operational transformation capabilities. About Sparq: Sparq is an AI-native engineering partner for organizations whose growth depends on complex operational systems performing with industrial-grade precision as scale, complexity and intelligence increase. Sparq opens 'The Shop' to close the gap between AI hype and enterprise reality. April 14, 2026 5:04 AM Gift Article New engineering practice helps companies learn what works before committing to AI investments ATLANTA, GA / ACCESS Newswire / April 14, 2026 / Sparq, the AI-accelerated solution engineering partner built to re-engineer the systems businesses run on, today announced the launch of The Shop, a dedicated practice within Sparq designed to take AI out of the conference room and inside real operational systems. The Shop will operate as Sparq's working floor, where engineers can build, break and stress-test AI under production-like conditions and "show not tell" prospective customers working prototypes to help de-risk their investments. "Most enterprises don't struggle with ideas about AI. They struggle with making AI work effectively inside the systems that run their business," said Ingrid Curtis, CEO of Sparq. "The Shop is where we do the hard learning first, so clients don't have to. It's how we move from theory to tested, operational results." While many organizations invest heavily in AI pilots, initiatives often stall when they meet inaccurate documentation and operational realities. Sparq's bench takes AI tools and approaches that show up repeatedly in client work and runs them inside real systems, pushing them until they reveal where they hold and where they fail. What survives that process becomes a proven accelerator, a sharper delivery methodology or a clearer set of tradeoffs for buyers to understand before they commit to the final project. Unable to load content. Please check your configuration and try again. The Shop reflects Sparq's belief that AI should be designed into operating systems, not bolted on later. It offers value across three interconnected areas: * Builds AI-native accelerators grounded in production. When Sparq engineers encounter the same problem twice in the field, it goes on the bench. The Shop runs it inside real systems to identify where and how it fails, turning what survives into repeatable offerings that clients can adopt with a faster start and lower risk. * Improves the buying experience with proof, not promises. The Shop gives prospective clients something they can see and interrogate. Systems are demonstrated in production-like conditions so buyers understand what's possible. * Future-proofs the bench through hands-on experience. As AI changes what engineering looks like, knowledge comes from doing the work, not studying it. The Shop helps ensure Sparq's engineering team builds the judgement necessary for AI, including where to apply it, where it fails and when to say no. The Shop will be led by General Manager Jackson Stakeman, a Sparq engineering leader known for his candid field notes on AI adoption and enterprise risk. "We don't reap the benefits of AI by pumping our fists in the air every time they release a new model," said Stakeman. "We do it by getting our hands dirty by using these tools to solve real problems. We get better at working by working, and The Shop is our community of builders who are doing just that." Alongside The Shop, Sparq is launching The Signal, a Substack newsletter written by Stakeman and team for engineers and product leaders navigating the real complexities of building with AI. Equal parts field notes and sharp commentary, The Signal will surface what's actually happening at the edge of AI deployment, with a direct, practitioner-first perspective shaped by years of delivery work. The Shop is now operating with dedicated Sparq staff and bench engineers. For more information, visit teamsparq.com/the-shop. Sparq introduces the Sparq Intelligence Studio

Sparq introduces the Sparq Intelligence Studio. February 12, 2026 Sparq has announced the launch of Sparq Intelligence Studio. It helps organisations operationalise the data and AI within their core systems. It achieves this by collating disparate sources of data, including data, documents, edge cases, and exceptions, creating yet another silo. It then normalises that data to remove uncertainty in its validity. Thirdly, it highlights key business intelligence that may impact risks, patterns, and opportunities across KPIs such as margin, throughput, and reliability. Finally, any recommended actions are supported by evidence and presented in the context of the problem and solution. The Sparq Intelligence Studio aims to help move AI experimentation through to AI delivering the operational advantages it has promised for so long, yet rarely delivered. According to MIT's Media Lab, 95% of corporate generative AI projects and pilots fail to deliver expected, measurable business value or move into production. One of the key reasons Sparq believes most AI projects fail is that they are often disconnected from the business software from which they gather data. The Sparq Intelligence Studio solves this by providing an orchestration layer that helps teams deploy Intelligence back into those systems. Changes are evidenced, auditable, and can therefore be measured in terms of how they perform, creating a virtuous circle. Ingrid Curtis, CEO of Sparq, commented, "AI is no longer just a tool. It's a way to engineer how work gets done. Intelligence Studio gives organisations a smarter starting point and a safer path for compounding Intelligence. "Instead of building from scratch or forcing generic solutions into complex environments, teams can start with proven patterns that adapt to their systems, data and governance requirements while delivering immediate, measurable impact." What can do. Sparq has used the Studio to help a global identity and access management leader operationalise the Intelligence that it had identified within its Snowflake data. As data flowed into Snowflake, the organisation was inundated with reports and insights that made it harder to prioritise, plan, and act. Sparq worked with the company to create a solution that did not mean completely rebuilding the data foundation; instead, it created a new data intelligence foundation that provided the means for the right insights to reach the right people at the right time and in a compliant way. Key elements of the solution included: * Natural-Language Access to Enterprise Data that enabled users to ask questions of the Snowflake data * Definition of a semantic layer that maps internal metrics against data structures * Insight Governance that delivered explainable AI * Iterative improvement by capturing every interaction with the interface, identifying common questions, and hard-to-answer questions to help improve the data foundation This was not a multi-year project, but one that Sparq delivered within weeks. The project aligned with security requirements. And the Sparq team worked with the client to ensure the handover had already occurred by the time the project completed. The results were dramatic. The organisation gained faster access to insights. It was able to capture and better understand their actions and interactions, and got a clearer picture of what they needed. The solution identified over 40 distinct use cases that delivered insights. Overall, Sparq estimates that the Intelligence Studio can help organisations increase delivery velocity by 150% and reduce manual work by 70%. How does it work. The Intelligence Studio continuously collects data, analyses it, and improves the coordination of Intelligence flows across disparate enterprise systems. Alongside the Intelligence Studio, Sparq has introduced three accelerators to assist organisations. Ask.IQ combines conversational AI with organisational data to provide source-linked, governed answers for business functions. It streamlines strategic decision-making and reduces reliance on analysts, enabling faster and clearer outcomes. Verify.IQ acts as an operational control, validating inputs before they reach core systems to reduce risk and cost. It uses real-time business rules and anomaly detection on structured data, automatically sending clean data and flagging issues for review. This leads to faster operations, fewer disputes, and increased confidence in high-risk environments. Assert.IQ leverages AI-powered quality intelligence to forecast potential defects, automatically fix unreliable tests, and consistently enhance each software release. For engineering managers facing unstable deployments, Assert.IQ offers quicker rollouts, reduces incidents, and lowers QA costs by keeping testing, updates, and delivery aligned. The accelerators help Sparq customers reduce the time-to-value for an engagement. They reduce the risk for AI deployments by providing templates that deliver that value faster. Derek Perry, CTO of Sparq, added, "Intelligence only compounds when it's connected to the systems that run the business. Intelligence Studio provides that connective layer that clients have been missing, embedding decision-ready data into operational workflows with the observability, governance, and auditability that enterprise environments demand. It finally fills the gap between AI experimentation and operational performance." Enterprise times: what does this mean. What Sparq seems to have done with this launch is provide tooling that will help organisations to deliver successful AI projects more often. Rather than focusing on delivering specific project deliverables, it has taken a step back and thought through what makes a project successful. It then developed the Intelligence Studio to increase the chances of success with organisations. Key to this announcement is the natural language interface, which makes interaction frictionless, and the explainability angle. Legislation, current and future, is likely to require that AI outputs be immediately explainable rather than producing insights that may be hallucinations without that evidence. What is missing from the announcement is any pricing or details on how Sparq will deliver the Intelligence Studio. Is it part of a consulting engagement, or is this something they are looking to productise? January 22, 2026 January 26, 2026
