Overview

HOPICS works with people experiencing homelessness and low-income households in South Los Angeles, including Compton, Lynwood and Paramount. Its services connect street outreach and temporary shelter with permanent housing support, behavioral health treatment and help after incarceration. The organization leads the area's coordinated entry system, which organizes access to housing services for single adults and families. Public agencies, foundations and other donors fund its programs, while its Trauma Recovery Center treats crime survivors and their families. HOPICS began in 1988, is a nonprofit division of Special Service for Groups, and is headquartered in Los Angeles, California.
