Spin Technology

Comprehensive SaaS data protection platform

Overview

Spin Technology, operating as Spin.ai, offers a cloud-focused cybersecurity platform that protects data across major SaaS apps like Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, Salesforce, and Slack. Its SpinOne service combines SSPM, risk assessment of third-party apps and browser extensions, DLP, ransomware protection with AI-based behavioral analysis and a two-hour recovery SLA, and automated backups to AWS, GCP, or Azure. The platform provides an integrated, single solution rather than separate tools, and uses a channel-led go-to-market with MSPs/MSSPs. Its goal is to reduce security costs, streamline SecOps, and improve regulatory compliance for enterprises.

Spin.AI acquires DoControl to combine AI governance, DLP and browser security for 2,000+ organisations

Spin.AI has acquired DoControl, an Israeli cybersecurity company, to expand its SaaS and AI security platform. The acquisition combines DoControl's data loss prevention and AI governance capabilities with Spin.AI's security posture management, browser security, and ransomware resilience offerings. The combined platform now covers five distinct layers of SaaS and AI risk, serving more than 2,000 organisations worldwide. DoControl brings proven customer impact, having helped Vox Media remediate excessive sharing permissions across 20% of its SaaS documents and enabled StackAdapt to reduce public asset exposure by roughly 75%. Both companies will continue operating as independent brands. Existing customers will see no changes to their products, contracts, or support teams. The acquisition follows K1 Investment Management's investment in Spin.AI in March 2026.

Spin.AI makes 2026 Inc. 5000 as SaaS Security platform expands.

Spin.AI makes 2026 Inc. 5000 as SaaS Security platform expands. August 26, 2026 Spin.AI has been named to the 2026 Inc. 5000 after posting 89% revenue growth from 2022 through 2025, giving the SaaS security company another marker of growth as it expands its platform across cloud data protection, AI governance and security posture management. The company ranked No. 3,309 overall and No. 107 among Artificial Intelligence & Data companies on Inc. Magazine's annual ranking of America's fastest-growing private businesses. Spin.AI protects mission-critical cloud application data for more than 2,000 organizations worldwide. The recognition follows a period in which Spin.AI has broadened its SpinOne platform beyond its original backup and ransomware recovery capabilities. The platform now combines SaaS Security Posture Management, AI governance, Data Leak Prevention and eDiscovery alongside data backup and ransomware detection and recovery. That expansion reflects a wider shift in enterprise SaaS security. As companies rely on more cloud applications and introduce AI into everyday workflows, protecting application data increasingly involves more than recovering information after an incident. Organizations also need visibility into configurations, data exposure, AI usage and other risks distributed across multiple SaaS environments. Spin.AI is positioning SpinOne as a unified platform for managing those requirements across applications including Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, Salesforce, Slack, Jira and Confluence. The company extended that footprint in 2026 through its acquisition of Revyz, adding data resiliency and security posture management capabilities for the Atlassian ecosystem. The transaction brought Jira and Confluence into Spin.AI's broader SaaS security strategy and expanded the range of business-critical applications covered by its technology. Spin.AI also received an investment from K1 Investment Management in 2026. The company said K1 has provided operational resources intended to support its continued scaling. "K1's investment gave us the operational muscle to scale faster, and acquiring Revyz let us bring that same mission-critical data protection to the Atlassian ecosystem," founder and CEO Dmitry Dontov said. "The demand we're seeing for unified SaaS security tells us there's a lot more growth ahead." The combination of platform expansion, acquisition activity and outside investment points to a strategy centered on consolidation within SaaS security. Rather than requiring enterprises to use separate products for backup, ransomware response, security posture, AI governance and data protection, Spin.AI is bringing those functions into a common platform. That approach could become increasingly relevant as the number of applications holding sensitive corporate information expands. Generative AI adds another layer of complexity by creating new ways for employees and applications to access, process and potentially expose enterprise data, increasing demand for governance capabilities alongside conventional cybersecurity controls. Spin.AI's growth during the Inc. 5000 measurement period provides evidence of commercial traction behind that broader product strategy. Its 89% revenue increase between 2022 and 2025 came as the company evolved from a more narrowly focused SaaS backup and ransomware protection provider toward a wider security platform. The Inc. 5000 ranks privately held U.S. companies based on verified revenue growth over a three-year period. Companies on the 2026 list collectively generated more than $385 billion in revenue during 2025 and employ nearly 1.5 million people. "The founders on this year's list are a reminder that growth is still possible for companies willing to solve real problems with speed and discipline," Inc. Editor-in-Chief Mike Hofman said. In addition to SpinOne, Spin.AI offers SpinCRX, a standalone enterprise browser security product. For Spin.AI, the Inc. 5000 recognition arrives during a pivotal transition from individual SaaS protection capabilities toward a broader security architecture. Its ability to integrate acquired technology and capitalize on growing enterprise demand for AI governance and unified SaaS security will help determine whether the company can extend its recent growth as cloud application environments become more complex.

Spin.AI named to the 2026 Inc. 5000 list of America's fastest-growing private companies.

Spin.AI named to the 2026 Inc. 5000 list of America's fastest-growing private companies. SaaS security leader ranks No. 107 among Artificial Intelligence & Data companies, posting 89% three-year revenue growth. PALO ALTO, Calif. - August 26, 2026 - Spin.AI, a leading SaaS security company protecting mission-critical cloud application data for over 2,000 organizations worldwide, today announced it has been named to the 2026 Inc. 5000, Inc. Magazine's annual ranking of the fastest-growing private companies in America. Spin.AI ranked No. 3,309 overall and No. 107 among Artificial Intelligence & Data companies, driven by 89% revenue growth from 2022 to 2025. The Inc. 5000 is one of the most closely watched independent rankings of U.S. private-sector growth, and this year's list represents companies that collectively generated more than $385 billion in 2025 revenue and created 627,208 jobs over the past three years. Placement on the list requires verified, sustained revenue growth over a three-year period, not projections or self-reported estimates, making it a rigorous benchmark of real business momentum. Spin.AI's growth over the ranking period coincides with the expansion of its SpinOne platform beyond backup and ransomware recovery into SaaS Security Posture Management, AI governance, Data Leak Prevention, and eDiscovery, as well as its 2026 acquisition of Revyz, which extended SpinOne's data resiliency and security posture management capabilities to the Atlassian ecosystem, including Jira and Confluence. The growth was further fueled by a 2026 investment from K1 Investment Management, which has provided operational resources to help Spin.AI scale. "This ranking reflects a year of real momentum for Spin.AI," said Dmitry Dontov, CEO and Founder of Spin.AI. "K1's investment gave us the operational muscle to scale faster, and acquiring Revyz let us bring that same mission-critical data protection to the Atlassian ecosystem. We're just getting started: the demand we're seeing for unified SaaS security tells us there's a lot more growth ahead." "The Inc. 5000 has always celebrated entrepreneurs who see opportunity where others see obstacles," said Mike Hofman, editor-in-chief of Inc.
