"My hope is that the conference begins a conversation among educators, a community that is not just learning from the workshop presenters, but learning with and from one another." The conference, Stevens' first professional development event for the wider education community, will bring together PreK-12 teachers, administrators and other educators for a day run in conjunction with Project Zero at the Harvard University Graduate School of Education. Registration is open now. Participants will hear a keynote address from a leading Project Zero researcher and take part in small, interactive workshops facilitated by educators experienced in adapting Project Zero research and frameworks in classrooms, schools and other learning environments. Additionally, sessions will explore approaches to critical thinking, creativity, student agency and engaging diverse groups of learners, while giving participants practical ideas and strategies they can bring back to their own educational settings. The conference is the culmination of a long relationship between Stevens and Project Zero. Faculty members have participated in book studies, professional development, collaborative workshops and Project Zero institutes and online courses, bringing approaches developed through that work into classrooms and conversations about curriculum, teaching and learning. Project Zero, founded in 1967, is the oldest research center at the Harvard Graduate School of Education.
