Studson and Koroyd collab on new advanced safety helmet. September 22, 2026 Studson had unveiled the SHK-2, which the company calls its most advanced industrial safety helmet to date. The new SHK-2 safety helmet delivers enhanced thermal regulation and lightweight impact protection for the modern industrial athlete. Studson introduced the new safety helmet at the 2026 NSC Safety Congress & Expo in Indianapolis. The SHK-2 is engineered to meet the rigorous demands of the industrial work force. The SHK-2 leverages the latest advancements in "action-sports-grade" engineering to enhance wearability and site-wide productivity across civil construction, utilities and oil and gas. "Our mission with this next generation of safety helmets is to offer a cooler, lower-profile helmet that reduces the temperature around the head, with zero compromise on safety," said Ryan Barnes, Founder and CEO of Studson. "We designed the SHK-2 with our customers at the forefront: the electricians, roofers, linemen, and others required to wear a safety helmet on the job. The SHK-2 is a product of their feedback, matching the needs of the industrial athlete while helping them get home safe after every shift." The core of the SHK-2 is the result of a strategic collaboration between Studson and Koroyd. Moving beyond the EPS hybrid design of the SHK-1, the SHK-2 is Studson's first industrial safety helmet to solely integrate Koroyd material under the shell. Koroyd precision-welded tubes eliminate the need for EPS foam, providing a strong crumple zone for high-velocity impacts while enabling high-airflow pathways to dissipate heat. This cooling is built into the helmet itself, with no bolt-on fans or battery packs to add weight. "The move to a 100 per cent Koroyd interior design was a direct response to field crews demanding better thermal regulation and comfort without sacrificing impact consistency," said Piers Storey, Managing Director of Koroyd. "We have pushed the boundaries of heat dissipation and energy absorption by utilizing the welded tubes to create more effective crumple zones across the entire surface of the helmet." The SHK-2 has been designed, engineered, and built to comply with the ANSI/ISEA Z89.1-2026 Type II+ standard, which is set to be released soon. The safety helmet was validated through exhaustive field testing and a continuous feedback loop. Beyond impact protection, the SHK-2 prioritizes stability during complex maneuvers with a universal design to ensure a secure, comfortable fit, especially for those working at heights. Both the standard brim and full brim models will launch together, with first shipments expected in the fourth quarter of 2026. A CSA-certified version is expected in early 2027.

STUDSON named No. 265 on the 2026 Inc. 5000. Jordan Romero on August 11, 2026 Inc. Magazine released its 2026 Inc. 5000 list this morning. STUDSON came in at No. 265 out of 5,000 companies nationwide. Studson, Inc. ranked No. 1 in Oregon. No. 11 in Manufacturing. No. 1 in the Portland-Vancouver-Hillsboro area. The list ranks American private companies by revenue growth over a three-year window. Ours came in at 1,279% between 2022 and 2025. Growth on this list is a proxy for something simpler. It means more crews chose its safety helmets than the year before, and then did it again. That is the part worth sitting with. Every point of that 1,279% is a purchasing decision someone made on behalf of workers they are responsible for. Safety managers do not switch helmet programs casually. There is training involved, budget justification, and a crew that has to actually wear the helmet all day. When an organization makes that change, it's because the old answer stopped being good enough. STUDSON started in 2019 in a garage in Oregon. The premise was that the technology already standard in ski and climbing helmets had never made the jump to the job site, and that industrial athletes deserved better than a design that had barely changed in a century. The first SHK-1 shipped in 2021.
