Summation

AI-based tool transforms articles into curricula

Overview

Summation is an AI-powered platform that converts scholarly articles and reports into customized course materials. It serves educators by generating outlines, textbooks, slides, and assessments from uploaded content, enabling efficient curriculum development and up-to-date teaching resources. Operating as a SaaS product, it targets the education technology market, including universities, colleges, and individual instructors. Its core approach is automating parts of curriculum design so educators can focus more on teaching and student engagement. Compared to traditional content creation, Summation emphasizes rapid, tailored material generation from existing scholarly content, differentiating itself through AI-driven transformation of sources into ready-to-use course assets. The goal is to streamline the creation of high-quality educational materials, increasing efficiency for educators while supporting updated and aligned coursework.

Summation launches Reports for exec-ready AI analysis teams can trust and reuse

Summation, a decision-grade AI platform, has launched Reports, a capability designed to produce verified, executive-ready analysis for recurring business operations. The Bellevue-based startup, backed by Benchmark and Kleiner Perkins, counts Fanatics amongst its enterprise customers. Reports enable teams to create traceable, repeatable analysis for regular operating reviews, from monthly business reviews to weekly performance readouts. Each insight links directly to underlying data sources, allowing users to verify calculations without manual explanation. The platform uses Playbooks to standardise data sources, analytical logic and verification steps, turning ad-hoc reports into systematic processes. Summation integrates with existing data infrastructure and retains organisational context, including metrics and business logic, to improve precision over time.
