Summit Commercial Solutions raises $7.5M Series A to modernise Canadian insurance brokerage

Summit Commercial Solutions, a Kelowna-based insurance brokerage, has raised $7.5 million in Series A funding led by IA Capital, with participation from Sorathia Holdings and Greenlight Re Innovations. Founded in 2022 by former APOLLO Insurance employees Davis Gilbert and Josh Pillsbury, Summit operates as a national insurance brokerage and risk management firm serving over 10,000 customers. The company uses software, data and AI to enhance broker productivity rather than replace them. Since IA Capital's initial investment, Summit has more than doubled its revenue and expanded into group benefits whilst building internal wholesale capabilities. The funding will accelerate the company's infrastructure and support its national expansion across Canada, delivering what it describes as a tech-enabled platform for modern insurance brokers.
