Symrise launches Gen Alpha product development platform. * May 29, 2026 Symrise has launched Sym Alpha Think Tank, a so-called generational market intelligence platform for selected partners in its Scent & Care segment. The German personal care ingredient maker says the programme will help its customers translate Gen Alpha expectations into products and experiences with clear consumer relevance and move from idea to launch with stronger early validation. Consumer-culture and innovation-strategy expert Paula Limena, drawing on more than 20 years of experience across health, wellness, ingredients, and branded innovation ecosystems, will lead the initiative, which combines sensory workshops, cultural intelligence, and AI validation. The programme is said to have delivered actionable early-stage validation, helped shorten development cycles, and strengthened current engagements with multiple partners. Gen Alpha, the currently largest generation, spans roughly ages 8-14, with an estimated 2.5 billion globally in 2026. "Gen Alpha will reshape how brands build trust and deliver experiences," said Cheryl Morano, SVP Consumer Fragrance at Symrise. "Our 2025 pilot showed that early engagement with this cohort strengthens innovation decisions and outcomes. With Sym Alpha, we scale this capability to help strategic partners validate concepts earlier, sharpen development focus, and bring products to market faster," she added. "This commitment reflects our focus on building future-ready solutions and drives sustained, long-term growth with our customers".
Symrise breaks ground on the second phase of construction for its logistics center in Holzminden. Investment of approximately 25 million euros in the second phase of the project Expansion of capacity and efficiency to strengthen global delivery capabilities. A symbol of growth, investment in the company headquarters, and a commitment to operational excellence. Today, Symrise officially launched a key strategic project with the groundbreaking ceremony for the second phase of construction of its new logistics center in Holzminden. With an investment of approximately 25 million euros, the company is systematically expanding its logistics capacity, increasing supply chain efficiency, and strengthening the site as a central hub in its global logistics network. At the same time, the groundbreaking ceremony marks a visible commitment to the company's headquarters in Holzminden and an important milestone in its long-term development. The second phase of construction at the site reinforces the company's strategic direction, with a clear focus on growth, future business success, and modern logistics solutions. As a state-of-the-art, fully automated logistics hub, the center directly supports Symrise's strategic priorities: operational excellence, a targeted global footprint, and infrastructure consistently designed to perform. More efficient logistics processes, optimized transport structures, and a modern central logistics hub on the outskirts of the city are expected to support a sustainable overall logistics setup while benefitting traffic flow in the city. This will contribute positively to residents' quality of life and the city's infrastructure. The project is part of the Vision 2035 infrastructure program, with which Symrise is making targeted investments in the Holzminden site in the coming years. Symrise plans to complete the second construction phase of its new logistics center in March 2028. Dr Jean-Yves Parisot, CEO of Symrise, said: "Over the next few years, we will build more than a logistics center for Symrise at this site. We are investing in the future of our headquarters in Holzminden while at the same time strengthening our global positioning. As a state-of-the-art, fully automated, and digitalized logistics hub, this project reflects our ambition to create a company designed to perform. The digitalization of processes creates greater transparency and efficiency and supports our transformation into ONE Symrise. In this way, we create real added value for our customers and can support them quickly, flexibly, and reliably around the world. This groundbreaking ceremony sends a clear signal of growth and shows how consistently we are developing our infrastructure." The second phase of construction will connect directly to the existing logistics building and strategically complement the current infrastructure. The company is planning a fully automated high-bay warehouse with around 10,000 shelf spaces measuring approximately 98 meters in length, 22 meters in width, and 24 meters in height, as well as a two-story connecting building measuring approximately 52 meters in length. The new center will be operated by Symotion, Symrise's wholly owned logistics service provider. In this way, Symrise is increasing capacity, optimizing material and goods flows, and improving efficiency across its value chain. Jens Baedje, Managing Director of Symotion added: "With this logistics center, we are creating an efficient hub for our flow of goods and taking our processes to a new level. We are combining modern infrastructure with efficient processes to strengthen our logistics performance over the long term. At the same time, we are further enhancing and improving our processes in a targeted way through just-in-time deliveries precisely aligned with the production process and customer wishes." The groundbreaking ceremony marks the beginning of a project that extends far beyond construction itself. With completion of the second construction phase planned for 2028, Symrise will create infrastructure in Holzminden that will strengthen the site for future requirements over the long term. Symrise introduces Cellexora MD to Care & Wellness portfolio. Mar 31st, 2026 Courtesy of Symrise On March 31, 2026, Symrise announced the launch of Cellexora MD, a new cosmetic ingredient based on plant-based true exosomes, to its Care & Wellness portfolio. This ingredient is made from upcycled organic apple side streams in Italy, making it a natural-origin ingredient with exceptional stability and traceability. According to the company's press release, Cellexora MD allows manufacturers to support deep skin regeneration and long-term vitality while meeting growing consumer demand for efficacy, transparency and sustainability. The plant-derived extracellular vesicles act as biological messengers that facilitate cell-to-cell communication. The ingredient uses targeted interactions with keratinocytes, fibroblasts and macrophages to address the root causes of skin aging and support multi-layer protection. "These plant-derived exosomes bring nature's biological intelligence into premium skincare," said Nathalie Chevrot, global skin care category director at Symrise. "Cellexora MD helps strengthen long-term skin health, vitality and biological function over time. It adds a powerful component to Symrise's line-up of premium cosmetic ingredients. As consumers increasingly seek true effective skincare beyond correcting visible signs of aging, this innovation helps our customers lead the shift toward health span-driven skincare and advanced skin regeneration." Cellexora MD is an odorless white powder with 100% natural origin. Further, the ingredient has high water solubility to provide formulation flexibility and seamless integration into product application. The company's clinical data show a reduction in visible signs of aging within 30 days of use. Symrise will present Cellexora MD at in-cosmetics Global 2026 in Paris, France.
P-Hydroxyacetophenone (HAP) formulation guide. Mar 28, 2026 Leave a message A Comprehensive Analysis of Anti-inflammatory Mechanisms, Antiseptic Enhancement, and Brand Applications With the current strong growth of "Clean Beauty" and microbiome-based skincare, brands and OEM/ODM manufacturers are facing unprecedented formulation challenges. The emergence of p-hydroxyacetophenone provides a core foundation for building a modern "preservative-free system." I. In-depth academic exploration: the core mechanism of action of p-hydroxyacetophenone. In literature reviews and clinical trials, p-hydroxyacetophenone has demonstrated triple biological activity that surpasses that of a single preservative alternative: 1. (Preservative Boosting) p-Hydroxyacetophenone is not a legally recognized preservative in the regulations of many countries, but it has strong antibacterial potential. Its molecular structure can effectively act on the cell membrane of microorganisms, altering membrane permeability and transmembrane potential, causing bacterial cell contents to leak out. Formula Practice:When combined with diols such as 1,2-hexanediol, octyl glycol, or pentanediol, it produces a strong synergistic effect, supporting the broad-spectrum preservative ability of the entire formulation with very low addition levels (usually 0.1%-0.5%), especially showing excellent performance in antifungal activity. 2. (Inhibition of COX-2) Modern pharmacological studies have shown that p-hydroxyacetophenone can effectively inhibit the production of certain substances in the skin. Expression of Cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2). Academic verification:By inhibiting the COX-2 pathway, p-hydroxyacetophenone can block contact dermatitis and neurogenic inflammation caused by external stimuli (such as UV radiation and surfactant stimulation) at the source, rapidly reduce transepidermal water loss (TEWL), and relieve stinging sensation. 3. Antioxidant and emerging melanin-inhibiting potential. In addition to its ability to scavenge ROS (reactive oxygen species), the latest cutting-edge ingredient research indicates that certain concentrations of p-hydroxyacetophenone show potential in inhibiting tyrosinase activity. This means that it may appear as a synergistic ingredient in skin-brightening formulas in the future, assisting in whitening and anti-photoaging. II. Analysis of supply chain structure and application by well-known brands. On the raw material supply side, the benchmark product for p-hydroxyacetophenone is SymSave(R) H, developed by Symrise, a global giant in fragrances and flavors. Since its introduction to the market in 2013, it has become the industry standard for balancing formulation protection and mildness. The "golden partnership" of terminal brands Repair and anti-allergy For example, Winona's star soothing serum and intensive care cream utilize HAP (Hydrocotic Angiotensin-Protective Agents) combined with purslane extract. HAP plays a crucial role in preservation and, as part of the soothing system, enhances redness reduction. It is also used in La Roche-Posay's simplified formula. Gentle and additive-free Facial mask liquid can easily trigger allergies to traditional preservatives. High-end facial masks on the market (such as some lines of Natural Beauty and Proya) mostly use a versatile and gentle base of "water + moisturizer + HAP + 1,2-hexanediol". extreme systems HAP maintains high stability within the extreme pH range of 2-11 without disrupting the emulsion system, and is widely used in high SPF sunscreens and premium shampoos that emphasize scalp microbiome. III. B2B R&D formulation guidance and compliance recommendations. If you are leading the development of a new product, here are some practical suggestions regarding the use of p-hydroxyacetophenone: * Dissolution process: p-Hydroxyacetophenone is in powder form. It is recommended to add it to a polyol phase (such as propylene glycol or butylene glycol) and heat to dissolve it, or add it to an aqueous phase heated to above 60°C and homogenize it thoroughly. Allow the system to cool down before proceeding with subsequent operations. * Odor masking: High-purity HAP has a faint almond-like odor. At a concentration of 0.5%, the effect is negligible, but for completely fragrance-free formulations, attention must be paid to managing the odor threshold between batches of raw materials. * Regulatory claims of advantages: Using this ingredient not only allows Makeupcatcher (jinhua) Cosmetics Co., Ltd. to successfully pass the EWG Green Safety Rating, but also aligns with CleanGredients' environmentally friendly and microbiome-friendly philosophy, providing strong storytelling and compliance endorsement.
Symrise AG reported record profitability for full year 2025, with organic sales growth of 2.8% and adjusted EBITDA margin increasing by 120 basis points. The German flavour and fragrance company achieved €3 billion in revenue for its Nutrition and Health segment and €1.9 billion for Scent and Care. The company delivered €50 million in efficiency gains, exceeding its €40 million target, and posted a record adjusted business free cash flow margin of 15.8%. Adjusted earnings per share rose 7.2% to €3.67. Symrise announced a €400 million share buyback programme and proposed increasing its dividend to €1.25 per share, marking 16 consecutive annual increases. However, the company expects a low single-digit decline in Q1 2026 organic sales due to challenging comparables and macroeconomic uncertainties.
