Shiprazor and TFS On Demand partnership: redefining Quick Commerce. * May 23, 2026 Shiprazor has recently partnered with the Takealot Group, mainly forming an association with Takelaot Fulfilment Solutions. TFS is a logistics and fulfilment arm of this e-commerce giant known as the Takelaot Group. This collaboration is a major contributor to the development of hyperlocal deliveries and quick commerce in South Africa. With the expansion of the digital retail ecosystem in India, the growth of the e-commerce sector has begun at an unprecedented rate. The consumers in South Africa are expecting their order deliveries in accordance with the international standard. This has been a result of the delivery experiences offered by major industry leaders. Quick deliveries are not considered to be a luxurious experience; they have rather become the new normal. It has been able to integrate supply chain and consulting, international freight, on-demand delivery, and courier services, all under a single platform. TFS has made full use of the expertise and infrastructure that has been the logistics engine behind takealot.com and MrD brands. It has successfully onboarded some of the largest retailers in the country as well as smaller SME's and it is now planning to leave a mark on the national logistics footprint of South Africa. By collaborating with Shiprazor, merchants have been able to get access to: * Superior customer delivery experiences * Reduced operational complexity * Hyperlocal delivery infrastructure * Quick dispatch capabilities * Last-mile delivery fulfilment How have e-commerce merchants benefited from this collaboration? Last-mile delivery has always remained one of the biggest challenges faced by the e-commerce industry. It has been made relatively easier with the collaboration of Shiprazor and TFS. Small and medium-sized organizations in the e-commerce market faced barriers related to operational costs, and they also got little or no access to the premium logistics infrastructure. The delivery experiences, which were limited to the large-scale retailers, have now been made accessible to the smaller organizations with this collaboration. Some of the major benefits include: Reduced failures related to deliveries: The NDR (Non-delivery report) time has been reduced by Shiprazor. The return rate has also come down with the introduction of fulfilment workflows and improved communication. Better selection of couriers: The courier recommendations have now become smart as they are based on price, speed, and the delivery location of products. Faster deliveries and improved customer experience: In the supported delivery zones, products can be delivered within 30 to 60 minutes. Customers can track their products in real time, and this has thereby reduced their anxiety and improved their trust in online purchases. Simpler Operations: Shiprazor has made processes easier regarding centralised shipping management, tracking and return of orders, customer communication, and courier allocation. Benefits offered by Shiprazor. Shiprazor has been able to offer a strong combination of courier aggregation, logistics automation, and customer experience management. Some of its USPs include: Multiple Carriers Under a Single Platform: With a single platform, Shiprazor has been able to bring together carriers from different platforms. Quick Commerce Delivery Options: With the latest collaboration, companies are able to deliver their products within 30 minutes. The live shipment delivery feature has allowed customers to receive real-time tracking updates. Delivery Recommendations: With the integration of AI, companies receive shipping partner recommendations based on their location efficiency, speed, and reliability. The customers also receive automated follow-ups, which can reduce cart abandonment. NDR Management System: As the returns and failed deliveries are managed through a single platform, Shiprazor can improve operational efficiency. Along with the operational efficiency, Shiprazor is equally focused on user satisfaction. The road ahead. The collaboration between Shiprazor and TFS has been able to strengthen the e-commerce domain for the South African businesses. It has given consumers access to real-time order updates, flexible fulfilment options, improved post-purchase communication, and delivery of their products in an average time of 30 minutes. Seven sense for excellence: Geek+ adds MEA debut wins to Five European SCEA titles. Geek+, a global AMR leader, is proud to announce two new award wins that mark a significant milestone in its growing presence across the Middle East and Africa. First, Geek+ is proud to have won the Retail Supply Chain Excellence Award at the Supply Chain Excellence Awards MEA, together with Takealot Fulfilment Services (TFS), the logistics arm behind takealot.com, South Africa's largest e-commerce platform, and local integration partner European Conveyors, for its robotic sorting solution. Additionally, Geek+ is proud to have won the Best Use of Robotics Award together with Starlinks in Saudi Arabia, too. These latest wins mark its sixth and seventh Supply Chain Excellence recognitions across different regions and categories, further cementing its track record of delivering measurable results through intelligent warehouse automation. Two Wins, Two Stories The Retail Supply Chain Excellence Award: Takealot, European Conveyors, and Geek+ Takealot Fulfilment Services (TFS), the logistics arm behind takealot.com, delivers 1 in 5 parcels across South Africa. When they restructured their distribution network to handle surging volumes and growing SKU complexity, their large-item DC in Johannesburg quickly became a bottleneck. Manual sorting couldn't keep up. Traditional conveyor solutions weren't built for large, varied parcel formats. And with the launch of TakealotMore, a subscription service for free delivery on items like fridges and furniture, demand was only going to increase. What set this project apart from the start was Takealot's ambition. Automation was not positioned as a short-term capacity fix, but as a strategic priority and a scalable blueprint for their entire future fulfilment network. And they were willing to be bold about it. "We got to a point where we said, if we want to do it, we need to do it now. We had strict timelines to get the system in before peak season - anything else would have affected our throughput. Without Geek+ and European Conveyors coming to the party and really driving it with us, it would not have been the success that it was." - Gerdus Visagie, Head of Supply Chain Strategy and Infrastructure, Takealot "It's been a long journey for our business with Geek+ in sub-Saharan Africa, and Takealot gave us the opportunity to make it happen. Together, we put significant effort into understanding how to apply this new technology - and being the first to deploy it at this scale in sub-Saharan Africa, with Geek+ as our technology partner, was a remarkable achievement." - Andy Cooper, Managing Director, European Conveyors South Africa The Best Use of Robotics Award: Starlinks and Geek+ Its second win was earned alongside Starlinks, a leading supply chain solutions business providing high-quality end-to-end fulfilment management and operations across Saudi Arabia and the GCC. Facing surging fulfilment demand driven by fast-growing e-commerce volumes, Starlinks deployed a fully integrated Geek+ RoboShuttle8 system at their Riyadh distribution centre, combining flexible Tote-to-Person automation with high-density vertical storage and an advanced sorting solution. The results speak for themselves: up to 3x picking speed compared to manual operations, up to 4x increase in storage density, and nearly 2 percentage points improvement in picking accuracy. A combined fleet of 39 RoboShuttle8, 126 P40, and 90 S20C robots now operates seamlessly across the facility, delivering the agility and scalability required to support same-day delivery and peak-season demand. "Our DBOT model means we own the full lifecycle, from design to operation, ensuring that automation isn't just deployed, but truly embedded into our customers' success stories. This partnership with Geek+ shows how we combine operational expertise with best-in-class technology to deliver sustainable, scalable performance gains." - Makrem Kadachi, Managing Director of Solutions and UAE, Starlinks Why Retail in EMEA Cannot Afford to Stand Still Retail and e-commerce across EMEA are under more pressure than ever. Rising consumer expectations, faster delivery demands, labour shortages, and growing SKU complexity are straining fulfilment networks that were not built for this pace of change. For many retailers, scaling throughput by adding headcount is no longer viable. The operations that will lead the market tomorrow are the ones being built for flexibility, resilience, and scalability today. This is why automation is becoming a strategic priority across the region. The TFS project reflects exactly that shift: South Africa's largest e-commerce platform did not automate because it had to. It automated because it understood that building a flexible, scalable fulfilment operation now is what creates competitive advantage later. Geek+ Across MEA These wins are part of a broader Geek+ commitment to the Middle East and Africa, where Geek+ is actively partnering with leading operators to bring intelligent automation to new markets. Across the region, Geek+ is actively partnering with leading operators to bring intelligent automation to new markets. In Morocco, Geek+ is supporting the expansion of modern fulfilment infrastructure on the African continent. And in the United Arab Emirates, its partnership with Hellmann is helping one of the world's leading freight and logistics companies optimise their warehouse performance. Each project adds to a growing body of evidence: AMR technology is not a future ambition for MEA logistics. It is happening now. A Growing Track Record and More to Come Five European Supply Chain Excellence Awards. A sixth and seventh recognition across MEA and Saudi Arabia. Also adding 2 more in the US region. And its teams are already preparing entries for the Supply Chain Excellence Awards UK, where Geek+ will bring the same commitment to results-driven automation to one of the world's most competitive logistics markets. For Geek+, awards matter not as trophies, but as independent validation. When expert panels recognise a project for excellence, it confirms what its customers already know: that the right technology, the right partner, and the right execution create outcomes that genuinely transform operations. Geek+ is proud of what Geek+ built with Takealot, European Conveyors, and Starlinks. And Geek+ is just getting started in MEA. Ready to See What Geek+ Can Do for Your Operation? Takealot extends its high-speed deliveries to Durban. Online retailer Takealot began testing its new TakealotNow service in South Africa towards the end of last year, and it must be going well. The brand has announced that it's spreading its quick-fire delivery tendrils into KwaZulu-Natal, specifically in and around the Durban area. As with the initial test, it's rolling out the feature in areas with large population (and therefore logistics) density. Durban just happens to be next on the list. Takealot of shopping. According to TakealotNOW head Marnus Engelbrecht, the feature "started as a pilot project in 2023, and has grown rapidly ever since. We have expanded to the greater Cape Town region, Johannesburg, Pretoria, and now Durban. We're excited to continue this growth and bring the convenience of on-demand shopping to even more areas across South Africa." As before, folks in KZN can get their products delivered almost immediately (via a Mr. Delivery drive as opposed to one of the company's couriers) by selecting items with the 'Get It Now' tag on the storefront. There's also a dedicated option for high-speed delivery in the 'Shops' section of the Mr. D app, which collates most (or all) of the available items in one place. It may not work for large appliances and so on - good luck transporting those on a little motorcycle - but the service also takes advantage of the retailer's R99/m subscription tier for "unlimited free" Now deliveries. Now... do the Eastern Cape next.
Takealot pilots Get It Now feature to receive deliveries "in minutes" * Takealot has launched a new instant-delivery pilot called Get it Now in partnership with Mr D. * It promises deliveries in minutes, levearing the food delivery platform's drivers. * This pilot service is initially available in select parts of Cape Town, Johannesburg, and Pretoria. Since the pandemic, when Takealot fought to make its services available during lockdown in South Africa, it has seen local ecommerce go from strength to strength as different brands compete to get products delivered quicker than ever before. It is with this in mind that TakealotNow, the on-demand delivery option within the ecommerce giant's offerings, has launched a pilot feature in partnership with Mr D called Get It Now. As the name suggests, Get It Now aims to provide delivery on more than 1 000 products within the Takealot app within minutes, akin to what consumers experience with the likes of Checkers Sixty60 or the number of other grocery delivery platforms operating locally. "For customers browsing eligible products on the Takealot App, a new 'Get it Now' option will indicate items available for immediate delivery through TakealotNOW, fulfilled via the Mr D app. While this pilot service is initially available in select Cape Town, Johannesburg, and Pretoria regions, it underscores Takealot's mission to make life better by delivering what customers need, exactly when they need it," Takealot explained in a release to Hypertext. "Takealot is not just South Africa's #1 shopping app - together with Mr D, we're building the ultimate e-commerce ecosystem that understands what makes South Africans happy. And nothing delivers happiness quite like getting what you need, when you need it most, all in minutes," added Karla Levick, chief marketing officer at Takealot. This latest feature is part of a growing list of value-added services that Takealot has been adding to the mix of late. Here, the company highlighted the success of TakealotMORE, its loyalty programme launched in 2024. "TakealotMORE has already enhanced shopping convenience with unlimited free delivery on Takealot, Mr D, and TakealotNOW, along with exclusive perks such as free grocery delivery from Pick n Pay at in-store prices and complimentary access to News24 - all for less than R4 a day. TakealotNOW takes this commitment one step further by making everyday essentials and more available in just minutes," it pointed out. "We pioneered on-demand delivery for general merchandise in South Africa back in 2023 with the launch of TakealotNOW, proving that South Africans want the same access to instant convenience," emphasised Marnus Engelbrecht, head of TakealotNOW. To check out your eligibility for the Get It Now pilot, as well as browse the products that are being made available, download the Takealot app on Android or iOS.
