Post a press release.

Post a press release. Wednesday, September 09, 2026 Nevada City, CA Telestream, a global leader in media workflow technologies, today announced the next evolution of its Practical AI strategy, evolving its comprehensive portfolio of media-native AI capabilities into an intelligent automation layer that understands professional media and uses those insights to take action. Telestream Practical AI is designed to give media organizations the benefits of AI while maintaining control over their content, data, infrastructure and costs. Built from the ground up for professional media operations and designed to run on-premises, Telestream Practical AI brings media-native intelligence directly into established workflows. At IBC2026, Telestream will showcase new and expanded capabilities that move AI from understanding content to taking action on it, including face and logo detection, AI-assisted clip generation, autoframing for multi-platform content preparation, and expanded EDC Media Analyzer workflows that turn contextual content analysis into automated workflow decisions. Telestream is also extending support for emerging agentic workflows through MCP, enabling customer-built and third-party AI agents to interact with Vantage. "Media companies don't need more disconnected AI experiments; they need AI they can trust and put to work," said Rich Andes, Vice President of Product Management at Telestream. "We built Practical AI around the realities of professional media operations, from security and control to predictable costs and the ability to work directly with media inside established workflows. Now we're taking that further, using AI not just to understand what's in the content, but to turn that intelligence into decisions and actions that move the workflow forward." Media-Native AI Built for Control Telestream's Practical AI strategy draws on nearly three decades of experience building technology for professional media environments. That expertise enables AI to operate natively within established media workflows, understanding the formats, timecode, and metadata that underpin production. With AI embedded into the Vantage platform, organizations can avoid many of the additional processing steps and intermediary assets required to hand content between media infrastructure and standalone AI services. Andes added, "Control and trust have been fundamental to our approach from the outset. Rather than retrofitting cloud-first AI for local deployment, we built Practical AI from the ground up to operate in hybrid architectures, including controlled on-prem environments. That gives customers the flexibility to keep sensitive content within their own infrastructure, including fully air-gapped workflows where required, while ensuring customer media is not used to train shared models." Local processing also gives organizations greater control over AI economics. Consumption and token-based services can introduce significant and unpredictable costs as media volumes increase. By giving organizations greater control over where AI processing occurs, Telestream enables more predictable infrastructure economics as AI use scales. From Understanding Content to Acting on It The next phase of Practical AI moves beyond generating information about media toward using that intelligence to automate work. For example, Practical AI can analyze content as it arrives, identify a meaningful moment, extract the relevant segment, reframe it for the intended destination, and move it into production, all within a seamlessly connected workflow. At IBC2026, Telestream will demonstrate several advancements illustrating that evolution: AI Vision is advancing with new face and logo detection capabilities designed around real media use cases. Customers can provide their own reference image libraries to identify people important to their operations, from local politicians and reporters to athletes and other talent, without relying on public databases. Logo detection similarly enables organizations to locate commercial or brand logos throughout content. These capabilities can support content discovery, metadata enrichment, compliance, sponsorship analysis, and downstream automation. EDC Media Analyzer turns content understanding into workflow decisions. Telestream will demonstrate how EDC Media Analyzer can analyze the video and audio essence of media - not just technical metadata - to identify the structural and editorial elements that determine what should happen next. It can recognize elements such as black, slates, commercial segments, audio configurations, captions and subtitles, and other content characteristics, returning structured, timecode-accurate data that can be used to drive automated processing. That intelligence can help organizations automate decisions that traditionally require operators to inspect assets manually, particularly when onboarding large, inconsistent libraries for VOD, FAST, social, international and other distribution workflows. At IBC, Telestream will demonstrate analysis performed in its cloud-based EDC environment with the resulting intelligence routed back to Vantage, where it triggers downstream workflow actions. Telestream plans to extend this capability more deeply into Vantage, including future native on-premises analysis. AI Moment accelerates content discovery and digital distribution. IBC attendees will get a first look at AI Moment, a new Vantage AI capability designed to analyze longer-form content and identify the moments and topics that matter most. AI Moment includes two modes: Generate Highlights identifies the most compelling moments within a video and extracts them as usable clips, while Generate Topics analyzes the full program and creates topic-based segments that describe what is happening throughout the content. Highlighted moments can move directly into downstream processing and delivery workflows, while topic segmentation can make longer content easier to navigate, organize and repurpose. The capability can support a wide range of media, from sports and news to interviews, talk shows and other long-form programming. AI Autoframe supercharges multi-platform content delivery. Telestream AI Autoframe automatically adapts video for horizontal, square and vertical formats, helping organizations prepare content for social, mobile and other digital platforms without adding a separate manual reframing step. By analyzing the visual content of each shot, Autoframe can keep the most important action or subject appropriately framed as aspect ratios change. Combining AI Moment and Autoframe, end users can identify a compelling moment, create the clip, and prepare it for the intended distribution channel as part of the same automated workflow. A Comprehensive AI Environment These advancements build on Telestream's Practical AI portfolio spanning AI Speech, AI Caption, AI Vision, AI Autoframe, AI Qualify, and EDC Media Analyzer. The value comes not only from the individual capabilities, but from how they work together. Andes explained, "A media organization that relies on separate vendors for speech recognition, visual analysis, content identification, quality control and reframing can face multiple integrations, security reviews, commercial agreements and workflow handoffs. Telestream is building these capabilities into a comprehensive media environment where they can be combined into end-to-end workflows, giving customers the flexibility to expand their use of AI without continually adding and integrating new point solutions." Telestream is also extending Practical AI into emerging agentic workflows. MCP support, which will be previewed at IBC, will allow customer-built and third-party AI agents to interact with Vantage, enabling organizations to connect their own AI experiences with Telestream's established media processing and workflow automation capabilities while retaining Vantage as the execution layer for professional media operations. "AI is making intelligence and automation easier to create, but that doesn't automatically make media operations easier," Andes added. "The hard part is operationalizing it reliably at scale. Practical AI puts Telestream's media expertise underneath that intelligence so customers can take advantage of AI while maintaining trust and control over the content, infrastructure and workflows that run their businesses." See Practical AI at IBC2026 Telestream will showcase Practical AI along with its latest media workflow and measurement solutions at IBC2026 (stand 7.B21). Post a press release.

Post a press release. Wednesday, September 02, 2026 Nevada City, CA Telestream, a global leader in media workflow and live ingest technologies, today announced advanced AI video enhancement capabilities powered by NVIDIA in Telestream Vantage, expanding upon Telestream's existing practical AI capabilities embedded across the media pipeline. One of the first solutions developed through the collaboration, Vantage Super Resolution, will be previewed for the first time at IBC2026 and is planned for release in Q4 2026. Built on the NVIDIA Video Effects SDK, part of the NVIDIA AI for Media collection, the new capability brings AI-powered super resolution directly into Vantage as a transcoder option, allowing media companies to automatically upscale legacy SD and HD content into modern HD, 4K, and UHD deliverables without leaving the workflow. The integration is designed to help broadcasters, sports organizations, post-production teams, and content owners modernize archive libraries by improving the visual quality of the content, qualify older assets for today's distribution requirements, and turn dormant content into new revenue opportunities. Across the media industry, valuable archive libraries remain trapped in formats that no longer meet the expectations of streaming platforms, FAST channels, UHD linear services, and direct-to-consumer offerings. Historical news footage, classic sports content, back-catalog programming, and early-HD masters often require costly, manual restoration or standalone upscaling tools before they can be repackaged for modern distribution. Telestream's Vantage Super Resolution capability addresses this challenge by embedding AI-powered upscaling directly into an automated media workflow. "Media companies are sitting on decades of valuable content, most of which was created for very different distribution environments," said Charlie Dunn, Executive Vice President of Products at Telestream. "By bringing NVIDIA's AI-powered super resolution technology directly into Vantage, where it sits alongside our embedded practical AI capabilities, we're helping customers modernize those libraries without adding manual steps, costly third-party services, or disruptive handoffs. This is exactly where Telestream delivers unique value: combining advanced technology with the workflow automation, throughput, and operational reliability our customers already depend on." "AI is most powerful in media operations when it is embedded directly into the workflows teams already trust," said Richard Kerris, GM and VP of Media & Entertainment at NVIDIA. "With Telestream integrating NVIDIA AI for Media technology into Vantage, media organizations can enhance legacy content at scale while keeping processing efficient, automated and production-ready." Unlike standalone upscaling tools that require assets to be exported, processed separately, and reimported into the media supply chain, Vantage Super Resolution will operate as a native transcoder option. Upscaling can run alongside QC, packaging, and delivery, allowing operators to apply AI-based enhancement as part of their existing Vantage workflow. This approach eliminates unnecessary file handoffs, reduces the risk of metadata loss or version drift, and enables unattended batch processing across large catalogs. Reviving Broadcast, Sports, and Program Archives in Super Resolution Vantage Super Resolution will enable broadcasters and media companies to automatically upscale large volumes of legacy content with minimal operator intervention for new FAST channels, streaming libraries, anniversary programming, documentary content, UHD linear offerings, and more. A broadcaster with thousands of hours of SD or early-HD programming can use Vantage to restore content from archive, apply AI-powered super resolution, perform QC, package the asset, and deliver it to the required destination as part of a single automated workflow. This gives content owners a practical path to convert dormant or underused archive libraries into new revenue opportunities across linear and digital channels. Leagues, regional sports networks, federations, and teams hold extensive libraries of classic game footage that remain highly valuable for documentaries, highlight packages, and shoulder programming opportunities. Vantage Super Resolution can help bring these assets closer to the visual quality expected of modern 4K productions, allowing legacy footage to be used more seamlessly alongside current-season content. Post-production and finishing facilities can also benefit from integrating AI-powered upscaling directly into conform and delivery workflows. When mixed-resolution source material arrives below spec, operators will be able to apply super resolution within the same Vantage transcode action they already use, reducing turnaround time and avoiding the operational friction of sending assets to a separate restoration or enhancement tool. Running on Vantage Lightspeed Servers Powered by NVIDIA Blackwell The Super Resolution capability will run on Telestream's latest Vantage Lightspeed servers featuring NVIDIA Blackwell GPUs. Processing is performed on the GPU, helping sustain high-throughput performance for large archive modernization projects. Vantage will automatically dispatch super resolution jobs to qualified GPU-equipped nodes, allowing customers to scale capacity by adding additional servers as demand increases. Telestream Vantage Super Resolution Availability Vantage Super Resolution is scheduled for release in Q4, 2026 and will initially be available on Telestream's NVIDIA GPU-equipped Vantage Lightspeed VLS 105, 205, and 305 servers. Customers should contact Telestream for specific configuration and availability details. Vantage Super Resolution is the first capability Telestream plans to deliver through its long-term partnership with NVIDIA. As NVIDIA continues to advance AI-powered media technologies, Telestream will evaluate additional opportunities to bring those capabilities into Vantage workflows in ways that are practical, secure, and aligned with real-world media operations. Experience Vantage Super Resolution at IBC2026 Telestream will showcase a technology preview of Vantage Super Resolution powered by NVIDIA at IBC 2026. The capability is planned for release in Q4 2026. To schedule a press briefing with Telestream at the show, contact Kristin Canders at [email protected].
