Overview
The Academy Charter School runs an elementary–high school in Hempstead as a charter school, delivering a standards-based, college-preparatory education funded by public per-student dollars and private grants. It offers a rigorous curriculum with advanced coursework, extracurriculars, small class sizes, and highly qualified teachers. The charter model gives flexibility for different approaches and a strong emphasis on leadership development to foster competitive scholars, unlike many traditional public schools. Its goal is to develop world-class scholars who learn today, lead tomorrow, and serve in the future.
