ThreeV Technologies and Reliability Transformation Solutions have launched ThreeV Vision, a managed AI inspection service for US electric utilities. The offering combines certified journeyman linemen, ThreeV's Vision software platform, and AI model training to help utilities meet regulatory inspection requirements. Vision targets utilities under regulator-mandated inspection programmes, including rural electric cooperatives, investor-owned utilities executing wildfire mitigation plans, and public power authorities filing storm hardening commitments. The service addresses workforce constraints and high inspection costs whilst building ground truth data for AI training. Certified linemen from RTS perform initial inspections using the Vision platform, with findings accessible through the utility's GIS system or APIs. The system trains AI models on customer-specific assets in the background, enabling subsequent inspection cycles to be completed by AI at lower cost, with linemen providing quality assurance.
