Tigera

Tigera

Cloud-native network security & observability platform

Overview

Tigera provides an open-core enterprise platform for secure application connectivity in cloud-native environments, built on the open-source Calico project. Calico is a unified Kubernetes networking, security, and observability solution that runs across major cloud providers and distributions, using a high-performance eBPF data plane and gateways to manage traffic between containers and traditional workloads. It differentiates itself by offering enterprise editions (Calico Enterprise and Calico Cloud) that add full-stack observability, runtime security, and CNAPP capabilities beyond the OSS, with a strong open-source heritage. Its goal is to help organizations securely connect, monitor, and protect cloud-native apps across multi-cloud and multi-cluster environments.

Simplify's Take

What believers are saying

  • Lynx is already deployed in production at major global banks, validating real-world enterprise demand[1][2].
  • AI agents are autonomous and non-deterministic, creating urgent security gaps that Lynx uniquely addresses[1][3].
  • Tigera secures over 1 million Kubernetes clusters multicloud, enabling rapid Lynx adoption at scale[1][3].

What critics are saying

  • Red Hat, NVIDIA, and Snyk bundle AI agent security into DevOps stacks, threatening Tigera pricing and adoption[1].
  • BadHost vulnerability in Starlette may expose AI agents to runtime compromise, undermining Lynx enforcement promises[1].
  • EU AI Act 2026–2027 mandates cryptographic identity and audit trails; Lynx must interoperate with Okta and EntraID[1].

What makes Tigera unique

  • Lynx secures Kubernetes-native AI agents without code changes, using cryptographic identity and default-deny policy[1][2].
  • Tigera leverages 10 years of Calico Kubernetes security expertise, now extended to autonomous AI workloads[1][3].
  • Lynx integrates natively with Okta, EntraID, and SPIFFE/SPIRE using open standards, avoiding proprietary lock-in[1][2].
