NEWS: AirEx secures £2.1m funding supported by Innovate UK Investor Partnerships. LONDON, UK (20th May 2026) - AirEx Technologies (AirEx) has raised a total of £2.1 million as part of a funding round supported by the Innovate UK Investor Partnerships Programme (IPP). This funding will enable the company to accelerate the large-scale deployment of its innovative solutions and support the development of new products, further advancing its mission to combat climate change and alleviate fuel poverty. AirEx has already established strong commercial partnerships with dozens of housing providers and Tier 1 contractors, including Warmworks, Peabody, and Together Housing. The funding will also support expansion into new partnerships and broader market rollout. The funding comes as AirEx has delivered significant impact across the UK housing sector. Watt a deal: Octopus Energy tariff cuts bills for 1,500 social housing homes. Octopus Energy has partnered with Together Housing Group to roll out a new clean technology tariff to 1,500 social housing homes in the North of England, with tenants expected to save up to £200 a year on energy bills. The initiative introduces Octopus Energy's Tenant Power tariff to social housing properties managed by Together Housing Group. The tariff is designed specifically for the sector and allows both tenants and landlords to benefit financially from on site renewable energy and battery storage. Tenant Power applies to homes fitted with solar panels and a compatible battery system. Electricity generated on site can be used directly in the home, while excess power is stored and sold back to the grid automatically when demand is highest. This approach allows tenants to reduce their reliance on electricity purchased from the grid, lowering household energy costs. At the same time, landlords receive income from energy exported back to the system, helping offset the cost of installing solar and battery technology. According to Octopus Energy, tenants using Tenant Power could see savings of up to £200 a year compared to a standard variable tariff. The tariff is described as the first in the UK to financially reward both tenants and social housing providers for the same clean energy assets. The first phase of the partnership covers 1,500 existing properties owned or managed by Together Housing Group. Both organisations say the rollout is expected to expand over time, including to new build homes, allowing more households to access lower cost electricity. Together Housing Group is a major housing association operating across the North of England. It provides homes for tens of thousands of residents and has been investing in solar installations as part of wider efforts to reduce energy costs and emissions across its housing stock. The rollout is part funded by the West Yorkshire Combined Authority. The funding is intended to support the installation of solar panels and battery systems, while also addressing fuel poverty across the region. Octopus Energy has expanded rapidly in recent years and now supplies energy to millions of UK households.
