Torq For Good: bringing GO Kart gaming stations to Niswonger Children's Hospital. By Maycie Belmore, Sr. Content Marketing Manager October 27, 2026 Get a personalized demo. See how Torq harnesses AI in your SOC to investigate, prioritize, and respond to threats faster. Maycie Belmore is Senior Content Marketing Manager at Torq, where she helps lead content strategy across the blog, social, and website. Maycie focuses on SEO and AEO content and turning complex topics like agentic AI and security automation into clear, practical content for security teams. Maycie is also a voice for the Torq brand through video, live webinars, and events. Some days remind you why you do what you do, and sometimes that has nothing to do with your actual job. Torq For Good is its internal initiative to give back to local communities around the world. It builds on Torq's previous investments in supporting young people and the next generation. This October, it sent my colleague Bob Boyle and me to Johnson City, Tennessee, to join something really special at Niswonger Children's Hospital. It's rare to have such an incredible opportunity to do something Torq don't get to do every day. And I'm so thankful to work for a company that makes an effort to make a difference. Torq teamed up with Gamers Outreach, a charity that empowers hospitalized families through play, to donate GO Kart multi-platform video gaming stations that roll right up to a patient's bedside. Both GO Karts are permanent for the hospital, so patients can keep playing long after its visit. Gamers Outreach's programs, including the GO Karts, support more than 350 hospitals and deliver over 8.4 million gaming experiences each year. Playing a video game might seem like the most ordinary thing in the world. But when a hospital stay keeps a child from school, birthday parties, and everything else that makes childhood feel like childhood, a game becomes something bigger. It gives them a chance to feel like a kid again. Its co-founder and CEO, Ofer Smadari, said it best: "Our team knows what great technology can do, but the best of it brings people together. For a child in the hospital, a video game is more than a game. It's a way to connect with others, and forget for a little while where you are. Partnering with Gamers Outreach to put GO Karts in Niswonger Children's Hospital is our way of giving back to a community that matters to us. We hope these patients and their families get a morning full of fun, and that the GO Karts keep that fun going long after we leave." - Ofer Smadari, Co-founder and CEO, Torq Meeting the team. Bob and I kicked off the morning at Niswonger Children's Hospital, part of Ballad Health and the only children's hospital in the region. It serves children and teens across East Tennessee and Southwest Virginia with state-of-the-art medical care in a family-centered environment, and it has been the region's Children's Miracle Network Hospitals affiliate for more than 30 years. There, Torq met Rodney Rhodes, the hospital's Child Life Manager, and Jessica Fuller, the Media Relations Manager. Next, Shanna Talaban from Gamers Outreach showed Torq around the GO Karts. These medical-grade video game kiosks are built for hospitals. Each one comes with Xbox and Nintendo Switch consoles, a monitor, controllers, and games, so patients can enjoy play as therapy during their hospital stay. Best of all, both GO Karts now live at Niswonger Children's Hospital, so the kids there can keep playing every day, not only on event day. The event also drew local media. Reporters from ABC TV affiliate WJHL News Channel 11 and Johnson City Press stopped by to hear about the joint initiative between Torq, Niswonger, and Gamer's Outreach. I'd like to thank its fantastic PR agency Highwire for their help in creating community awareness for all the great work Niswonger and Gamers Outreach do. Everyone welcomed Torq so warmly, and their excitement to have Torq there was obvious. Torq even got to meet Rigby, the hospital's therapy dog. He roams the hallways and bedsides and arguably has one of the most important jobs in the hospital. Bedside with the bravest kids i've ever met. Then came the part I'll carry with me the longest. Torq spent the day having bedside conversations with kids between the ages of 4 and 15. Torq built rapport, laughed, and passed out custom-made Niswonger Children's Hospital + Torq t-shirts. Seeing these children show so much bravery and strength through illnesses they shouldn't have to face at such a young age was tough. But when Torq wheeled in the GO Kart and their faces lit up like Christmas Day, its hope came true: these kids got a moment to feel like kids again. That feeling stayed with me all day, especially when I met Isla, one of the younger patients I spent time with. She was new to Mario Kart Racing but after a quick lesson and a few giggles, she picked it up, and by the end, she was beating me! Rodney Rhodes, the hospital's Child Life Manager, told WJHL that a gaming system can turn a day full of missed school and missed birthday parties into the highlight of a child's week. And Bob and I watched that happen in real time. Giving back matters. Stepping out of its cybersecurity world and into a completely different one to give back showed me exactly why Torq For Good exists. Torq's funding made this day possible, and it shows how businesses, nonprofits, and healthcare providers can work together to support hospitalized children, their families, and a wider community. "True community support means showing up where it matters most. Thanks to our partnership with Torq and Gamers Outreach, our patients get an incredible experience filled with gaming, excitement, and shared fun. Bringing gaming right to the bedside brings so much joy to our children and reminds them how many people across Tennessee are working to help support their healing." - Rodney Rhodes, MHA, CCLS, Manager of Child Life Program at Ballad Health Niswonger Children's Hospital I'm grateful to work for a company that wants to make a difference. Torq spends its days protecting enterprises from security threats, but it also invests in the communities around Torq. Being part of Torq's initiative of giving back, and traveling to Johnson City, Tennessee to see it firsthand, was a once-in-a-lifetime experience that Bob and I will carry with Torq forever. Thank you to Gamers Outreach, to Rodney and the team at Niswonger Children's Hospital, and to every patient and family who welcomed Torq in. Torq hope the GO Karts keep the fun going long after Torq leave. They'll stay right there at the bedside, ready for the next kid who needs it. Want to read more? Torq REV promises partners 100% services margin protection. Torq launches REV, an AI SOC partner program offering 100% services margin protection, deal protection, training and faster onboarding for MSSPs and resellers. Oct 22, 2026 Channel Insider content and product recommendations are editorially independent. We may make money when you click on links to our partners. Learn More Torq has launched REV (Revenue Enablement Velocity), a new AI security operations center (SOC) partner program offering 100% services margin protection, deal protection and dedicated enablement resources for resellers, systems integrators and managed security service providers. The program introduces three engagement models and a target of getting new partners ready to sell in as little as 10 days. It follows Torq's report of 150% year-over-year channel revenue growth, as the company looks to help partners build services businesses around AI-driven security operations. Torq REV introduces three partner engagement models. Torq's current channel ecosystem includes partners such as Carahsoft, Cybersellex, GuidePoint Security, Infinigate, Merlin Cyber, Optiv, Saepio Solutions, RSM, UltraViolet Cyber, and World Wide Technologies. The company's original partner program was built around incentives designed to benefit partners rather than requiring partners to align exclusively with the vendor's interests, Torq's Head of Global Channels and Alliances, Sheldon Muir, told Channel Insider. Torq REV enables partners to own the customer relationship, deliver the services, and capture the long-term value created by AI-driven Security Operations (SecOps). Torq REV features three engagement paths for partners: * Resell: For VARs, distributors, and resellers expanding into AI SOC. * Resell + Services: For solution providers and GSIs delivering implementation and transformation services. * MSSP/MDR: For MSSPs building next-generation AI SOC offerings with multi-tenant capabilities and consumption-aligned economics. Torq Academy expands sales and services certifications. A central component of REV is Torq Academy, a learning management system that provides partners with training across presales and professional services delivery. The Academy is free for partners, and its certification tracks are intended to prepare them to deliver services using the Torq platform. Muir said he wants partners to think of the Academy like university education, with 100-, 200-, or 300-level courses. 100- and 200-level courses are about presales, with 300 about professional services delivery. "They get in there, they go through the investments of those academy certifications, and then they come out blessed to deliver professional services, managed services, and so on," Muir explained. Torq has introduced sales and professional services certifications, both of which can qualify for continuing professional education (CPE) credits. The company has also hired an individual to focus specifically on channel enablement and building out the academy. REV also brings together Torq's reseller and services partners with the company's technology alliance partners through sales engineering (SE) workshops. The goal is to help partners develop joint offerings and communicate how Torq works alongside other technologies. "As part of Torq Academy, we have these things called SE-to-SE workshops, and it's really working with the other half of Torq, which is our AMP Program, and our technology alliance partnerships - bringing REV and AMP together," said Muir. Muir cited identity and email security as examples of areas where Torq and partners could collaborate on joint offerings. 10-day onboarding target aims to accelerate partner sales. The Velocity component of REV focuses on helping partners move from signing an agreement to becoming educated, certified, and ready to pursue opportunities. Torq aims to handle onboarding and legal processes efficiently while partners complete the necessary training. Muir said they want to onboard partners and "teach them how to fish." Once partners have completed the relevant certifications. Torq provides additional support to help them go to market. This includes dedicated channel enablement resources and marketing assistance for joint initiatives. Revenue: Channel revenue growth and partner opportunities. The opportunity for continued growth is driven by educating partners so they can deliver high-value AI outcomes and expand their service capabilities. "Many of these partners are very sharp; it's very competitive for them," said Muir. "A lot of the value that these guys bring is having a significant technical bench to deliver not only presales architecture, design discussions, and so on, but post-sales delivery, and even managed delivery." Muir explained that customers are increasingly discussing how to generate meaningful value from AI, creating an opportunity for partners to develop the expertise needed to deliver those outcomes. "Torq's been uniquely positioned there for quite some time because AI in the SOC is a really big deal. We're seeing tremendous ROI with AI in the SOC," said Muir. "Having partners really become educated so that they can drive their own outcomes with their clients - I think that's what's really going to create this velocity piece." REV's support of several partner business models - ranging from traditional resellers to SIs to MSSPs - enables partners to choose the level of involvement that best suits their business, while Torq encourages them to consider expanding into post-sales services. "If you want to be a reseller and stand alone, that's great. Let's go. If you want to add the professional services element over the managed services element, awesome, let's go," Muir said. MSSPs and resellers pursue new AI SOC services revenue. Looking ahead, Muir described AI as one of the most disruptive developments he has encountered during his career. He said organizations and partners are still working to understand how to use AI to generate meaningful business results. "I think that this AI thing has been as disruptive as anything, probably more disruptive than anything I've seen in my career," said Muir. "I've been doing this for almost 40 years. AI has confused everybody, whether or not they're vibe coding their own stuff, or they're trying to deliver high-value results around AI, back to their board, or back to their CEO." Partners need to educate themselves on the capabilities of AI agents and determine how to incorporate them into their own services. Muir acknowledged that AI may automate some work traditionally performed by service providers, but argued that knowledgeable partners can adapt their offerings accordingly. He also emphasized that customers may need partners to help identify potential AI applications, implement those capabilities, and establish security frameworks for AI agents. "Partners that are savvy are going to really understand that, and they're going to put their offerings and service around ROI, but there's still going to be this notion of an outcome. A client's not necessarily going to know what they want, and very often they're going to want to work with these partners to say 'hey, what's the art of the possible? I want to do agentic. I want agents doing work for me, but what's the art of the possible?'" said Muir. Muir expects partners to continue developing their capabilities as the AI market evolves, with education and service development playing important roles in that process. "I see the world starting to blend more and more where you take those classical resellers on one side, the classical GSIs on the other side, and they're kind of getting squished into all doing resell," Muir said. "They're all doing pre- and post-service delivery. They're all doing managed delivery. That's the world I see, and I think AI is just going to accelerate that." Meet GuidePoint Security. GuidePoint Security works with organizations of every size, from a few hundred employees up through Fortune 100 companies. Its approach is deliberately vendor-objective: the firm evaluates a wide range of security technologies so it can recommend what best fits a customer's environment and goals. That work is backed by a team of certified engineers, architects, and consultants. GuidePoint and Torq bring complementary strengths to the table. GuidePoint provides advisory and services expertise to help customers assess, deploy, and operationalize security technology, and the Torq AI SOC Platform gives them agentic AI and automation across the threat lifecycle, from triage through investigation and response, with analysts in the loop for decisions that require human judgment. Working together, the focus is the same: helping customers reach the security outcomes they're after. That partnership mindset is what Mateo Gutierrez, Senior Account Executive at Guidepoint, keeps coming back to. "It's not just here you go, see you later," Gutierrez said. "It's much more of a true partnership with our customers: step by step, how is this going to impact your roadmap over the next three to five years, and how do we help you get there?" Gutierrez is candid that customers face a lot of complexity, and they lean on GuidePoint for the expertise to work through it. Focused on customer outcomes. Many security teams are fielding more alerts than they can clear and running more tools than they have the headcount to operate. Working together, GuidePoint and Torq help customers operationalize their existing resources so their teams can respond faster and focus on the work that matters most. "Security teams have been underwater for a long time," Gutierrez said. "When you can accelerate and automate the threat detection, investigation, and response lifecycle, organizations reach the outcomes they're after without exhausting their resources." For GuidePoint, much of the value is in helping customers get more out of what they've already invested in. "So much of our job is helping customers operationalize what they've already bought," Gutierrez said, "and get mean time to respond and mean time to resolve down from days to, hopefully, minutes." That time-to-outcome is what customers care about most. "What customers really care about is the ROI from a time perspective," Gutierrez said. "How much investigation and containment can happen before a human even has to step in?" As an example of what that can look like, a Torq live demo resolved an incident that would normally take two to three days start to finish in 15 minutes or less, with several integrations handling containment automatically. Support that continues after go-live. GuidePoint doesn't hand customers a platform and walk away. They back the partnership with a technical bench that keeps tuning the deployment after go-live. "We have people who can support it from a services standpoint and continuously fine-tune it to reach those outcomes," Gutierrez said. Because GuidePoint often helped the customer select the tools involved, it's well positioned to bring everything together for them. "It's lockstep," he said. Customers are modernizing their security operations, whether their partner leads that conversation or not, and GuidePoint is choosing to lead it. "I only see this partnership [with Torq] growing," Gutierrez added. "It comes up in more and more of our customer conversations." Interested in partnering with Torq to solve customer challenges?
Merlin names Torq a key partner for federal AI SOC Modernization. Sep 08, 2026, 08:00 ET Partnership brings agentic AI-powered security operations to federal agencies while accelerating Torq's path to FedRAMP authorization TYSONS CORNER, VA, Sept. 8, 2026 /PRNewswire/ - Merlin, a trusted technology partner known for deep government expertise and mission-ready solutions, today announced that Torq, the established agentic security operations leader, will serve as a key technology partner in Merlin's SOC Modernization architecture for federal agencies. The partnership combines Torq's AI SOC Platform capabilities with Merlin's validated architecture, federal market expertise, and compliance infrastructure to help agencies accelerate detection, investigation, and response. Merlin is also supporting Torq's path to FedRAMP authorization through Constellation GovCloud (CGC). Bringing the Agentic SOC to Federal Agencies SOC Modernization is part of Merlin Validated Solutions (MVS), a portfolio of pre-tested, mission-ready architectures. MVS integrates existing independent security technologies into a unified, end-to-end detection-to-response workflow that is automated but governed: actions are validated through a human-in-the-loop authorization model rather than left to run unchecked. Rather than replacing agencies' current investments, MVS unifies disconnected tools into a single coordinated workflow that can identify threats, analyze security data, validate automated actions, and respond at machine speed and scale to give federal agencies and critical infrastructure sectors pre-tested, compliant, mission-ready architectures. The Torq AI SOC Platform will give federal agencies a fundamentally different way to defend mission-critical environments - using agentic AI to continuously ingest and contextualize alerts across the existing security stack, automatically triage threats, investigate the highest-risk incidents, and execute response and remediation within agency-defined guardrails. Rather than adding another point tool, Torq connects the full incident lifecycle so agencies can expand SOC capacity without proportionally expanding headcount, respond at machine speed to increasingly sophisticated threats, and keep human analysts focused on the incidents that require judgment. Every agentic action can remain transparent, governed, and auditable, providing the oversight and accountability federal environments require while each confirmation or correction improves the systems' accuracy over time, enabling agencies to progressively move from human-in-the-loop to human-on-the-loop operations as confidence grows. "Federal agencies don't need another promise of what AI could do for security - they need proven technology that can operate at mission scale, with the governance and controls government demands," said Ofer Smadari, CEO of Torq. "The Torq AI SOC Platform was built for this moment. It brings agentic AI to the full security operations lifecycle, enabling teams to investigate and respond at machine speed while keeping humans in control. With an enterprise-proven platform and a clear path to FedRAMP authorization, Torq is ready to bring the power of the AI SOC to the federal market. Merlin knows how to turn breakthrough technology into mission-ready capability, and we're excited to work together to make agentic security operations a reality across government." The Emerging Government Imperative for the SOC The partnership addresses a growing gap federal agencies are being pushed to close. In March 2026, the White House released President Trump's Cyber Strategy for America, directing federal agencies to adopt AI-powered cybersecurity solutions to defend federal networks and deter intrusions at scale. In June 2026, CISA's Binding Operational Directive 26-04 compressed remediation windows for the highest-risk vulnerabilities to as little as three days, a response to how far AI has narrowed the gap between vulnerability disclosure and exploitation. Legacy SIEM and SOAR tools, and the shrinking pool of analysts who operate them, were not built for that pace. Agentic AI has already moved past pilot stage in the commercial sector; the federal government now needs the same capability delivered through a compliant path. "AI is accelerating vulnerability discovery and rapidly compressing the time from discovery to exploitation. Federal security teams need to operate at the same speed," said Robert Costello, Chief Digital and Information Officer at Merlin. "Torq significantly closes that gap by automating triage, investigation, and response action, helping defenders act faster across increasingly complex environments. Merlin is supporting Torq through its FedRAMP journey, and I'm equally excited to bring the platform into our own SOC and experience it firsthand." The partnership builds on Merlin Ventures' investment in Torq, announced as part of the company's $140 million Series D round earlier this year, and will help Torq rapidly scale the Torq AI SOC Platform to protect the nation's most critical infrastructure. Merlin and Torq will both be exhibiting at the Billington Cybersecurity Summit in Washington, D.C., September 8-10, 2026. Torq named a leading innovator in SACR 2026 AI SOC Market Report. By Rick Bosworth, Sr. Director of Product Marketing July 31, 2026 Get a personalized demo. See how Torq harnesses AI in your SOC to investigate, prioritize, and respond to threats faster. Software Analyst Cyber Research (SACR) just published its 2026 AI SOC Market Report, offering an independent assessment of vendors competing in what has rapidly become the most consequential category in enterprise security. Torq features prominently, and the report's framing is worth unpacking because it illuminates what makes the AI SOC category hard to evaluate and why Torq's approach is consequential. Torq's AI SOC: from alert triage through remediation. SACR's most pointed observation about Torq is definitional. The firm writes: "Torq is best understood less as a conventional SOAR vendor with AI features and more as an AI SOC operating layer that can ingest alerts, classify triage outcomes, construct cases, assign work to Socrates, and route remediation through deterministic or agentic workflows depending on the use case." That distinction matters. Much of what gets marketed as AI SOC today amounts to copilot functionality that surfaces recommendations and draft summaries, and stops at basic triage that simply moves the bottleneck down the SOC line by an increment. SACR cuts through that framing: "Torq is trying to own high-volume alert triage and response closure, not simply accelerate analyst review." Owning closure requires a different architecture than assisting analysts. It requires accurate alert classification at scale, a context layer deep enough to support trustworthy, autonomous verdicts, case management that carries investigations forward, and response automation that can act, not just advise. But let's circle back and dwell a bit on the first phase: autonomous alert triage. Auto Triage: context is the differentiator. Torq Auto Triage classifies incoming alerts as false positive, benign, or malicious, enriches them with threat intelligence and business context, and routes them accordingly, all before a human analyst is involved. True positives become cases automatically. False positives are fed back into the per-tenant AI model. SACR called out the quality of Torq's context layer directly: "Torq is not treating alerts as isolated artifacts. It is building a context pipeline around entities, access history, business role, device state, SaaS activity, and related evidence before determining whether an alert should be closed, escalated, or remediated." Three underlying capabilities power that context pipeline. * Torq Reflex is a per-tenant ML model trained continuously on your team's confirmed verdicts. * Torq Recall retrieves the most relevant prior cases from your environment's history and applies an LLM to determine how those precedents apply to the current alert. * Torq Context Graph provides the unified substrate both depend on: a continuously updated map of identities, assets, networks, policies, and analyst decisions, normalized across your entire security stack. The results speak volumes. On average, large enterprises achieve a mean time to triage (MTTT) of 1 minute, a 60x improvement over manual triage. A global biotech titan cites a 97% reduction in noise entering the SOC; imagine how much better their security analysts can focus. A well-known financial services enterprise achieved 99% faster threat triage after deploying Torq. Case Management: the operating unit. When Auto Triage surfaces a true positive, it flows directly into Torq Case Management, where analysts inherit the full verdict, enrichment context, and proposed next steps. They do not reconstruct context from scratch. From within the case interface, analysts collaborate with Torq Socrates(TM), trigger automated response actions, and track investigation continuity across shift handoffs. Each confirmed verdict and analyst correction flows back into Reflex as a training signal, compounding accuracy over time. This is the mechanism behind what SACR identifies as Torq's stronger-than-expected investigation story: the platform captures and encodes analyst judgment, rather than relying on individual expertise to repeat the same reasoning shift after shift. The machine clears the noise. The analysts focus on the highest priority items. Socrates: reasoning and orchestration. Torq Socrates is the agentic reasoning and orchestration layer at the center of the platform. It can be used interactively by analysts, embedded in investigation templates, or assigned cases autonomously. Once on a case, Socrates plans investigations, delegates tasks to specialized Torq HyperAgents(TM), and coordinates response actions across the security stack. SACR characterizes Socrates as "the reasoning and planning layer that decides how much work should be agentic, how much should be deterministic, and where the human should approve or intervene." As SACR notes, "autonomy is a dial, not a binary switch," and Torq's model lets security organizations operationalize that dial gradually: starting with triage and recommendation, moving into human-approved action, and eventually automating higher-confidence alert classes. One Torq customer on PeerSpot describes the cumulative impact: Torq handles a large volume of their alerts autonomously, fundamentally changing the burden placed on their security team. Hyperautomation: execution depth. Torq Hyperautomation is the execution layer that connects AI decisions to real action, supporting both agentic and deterministic workflows across the full security stack. SACR identifies this automation heritage as a structural advantage: "Compared with AI SOC point solutions, Torq's advantage is the ability to connect AI decisioning to actual workflow execution." That advantage compounds. The same platform that classifies an alert, builds the case, and assigns it to Socrates is the platform that executes containment and remediation at machine speed. Customers have measured a 94% reduction in mean time to respond (MTTR), a metric that requires the full chain, not just faster triage at the front end. What SACR's assessment means for buyers. SACR closes its Torq vendor profile with a synthesis that applies beyond Torq specifically: "Autonomous SOC value will be measured by closed-loop operating capability rather than AI summarization." Verdict quality matters. But a verdict quality that does not connect to case construction, investigation, response, and organizational learning is an incomplete story. Torq's architecture is designed around that full loop.
