Dozens of Trader Joe's stores 'opening soon' including Massachusetts.

Dozens of Trader Joe's stores 'opening soon' including Massachusetts. by: Addy Bink Posted: Aug 18, 2026 / 09:06 AM EDT Updated: Aug 18, 2026 / 09:16 AM EDT (NEXSTAR) - Wish you had access to beloved orange chicken and a slew of tote bags sold by workers clad in hierarchical shirts? You may soon, as Trader Joe's continues to bring new stores and notably small parking lots to more communities. Trader Joe's previously confirmed to Nexstar that it was opening at least 25 stores this year. Several of those stores recently opened their doors, including locations in Paso Robles, California, and Mandeville, Louisiana. The grocer, which has been ranked as the nation's favorite, lists two dozen more stores as opening soon. The newest to join the list include: * California: Leucadia (1590 Leucadia Boulevard), Riverbank (2135 Claribel Road), San Diego (3962 Clairemont Mesa Boulevard) * Illinois: Joliet (2741 Plainfield Road) * Maryland: Baltimore (6311 York Road - Anneslie) These stores don't yet have confirmed opening dates. Back in May, Trader Joe's had identified 24 stores as "opening soon." Seven of those have since opened, while the following are still in the works. * Arizona: Phoenix (21001 North Tatum Boulevard, Suite 1030) * California: Anaheim Hills (6336 E. Santa Ana Canyon Road) * Florida: Orlando (1444 North Alafaya Trail) * Illinois: Oswego (1930 US-34) and Chicago (804 West Montrose Avenue) * Kansas: Merriam (8700 Shawnee Mission Parkway) * Louisiana: Lafayette (1710 Camellia Boulevard) * Massachusetts: Reading (34 Walkers Brook Drive) and Quincy (111 General McConville Way) * Michigan: Farmington Hills (27658 Middlebelt Road) * New Jersey: West Orange (471 Mt. Pleasant Avenue) * New York: Syracuse (3515 West Genesee Street) and Yonkers (2482 Central Park Avenue) * Ohio: University Heights (2643 Warrensville Center Road) * Utah: Herriman (4850 W. 13400 South) and West Jordan (5561 W 7800 S) * Washington: Seattle (401 NE Northgate Way) and Spokane Valley (13414 E. Sprague Avenue) Earlier this month, a San Diego-based developer announced that Trader Joe's will also open a new store in San Marcos, California, as part of a fast-growing development, Nexstar's KSWB/KUSI reported. Another location could open in Phoenix later this year, KTVK reported in June, and a store in Parsippany, New Jersey, is in the works, per NJBIZ. A spokesperson for Trader Joe's told Nexstar that exact dates weren't available for the above stores, but that stores are typically marked as "opening soon" online three to six months before they are expected to open. Local reporting shows that at least a few could open before the year ends. Officials in Riverbank, Merriam, Herriman, Spokane Valley, and University Heights suggested their new Trader Joe's stores could open in the fall. The Oswego store and both new New York locations could open before the year ends. Trader Joe's previously reported that it planned to open its store in Reading in 2026. The location in Quincy is expected to open in 2027, according to city officials. Despite all of its anticipated growth, Trader Joe's is not yet expanding into new states. You can find the nautical-themed retailer in 42 states and the District of Columbia. The only states still awaiting a Trader Joe's store are Alaska, Hawaii, Mississippi, Montana, North Dakota, South Dakota, West Virginia, and Wyoming.

Trader Joe's coming to San Marcos' North City district. Posted: Aug 10, 2026 / 12:25 PM PDT Updated: Aug 10, 2026 / 12:25 PM PDT SAN MARCOS, Calif. (FOX 5/KUSI) - North County will be getting a new Trader Joe's store soon. A San Diego-based developer announced on Monday that the popular grocery store will be added to the list of tenants in San Marcos' North City district, a fast-growing modern urban development. Trader Joe's will join Haggo's Organic Taco, Honor Pilates and Padel N9NE to mark the next phase of growth in North City. Plus, a two-acre community park is slated to open nearby sometime in 2027 with water features, play areas, public art and spaces for events. The announcement comes after the recent opening of 222 North City, an upscale apartment community with nearly 500 residences located near California State University San Marcos. "Every great neighborhood needs a great grocery store, and Trader Joe's is a natural fit for North City," said Darren Levitt, principal of Sea Breeze Properties, a real estate developer. North City already features an eclectic mix of retail and dining destinations, including Buona Forchetta, Christophe Rull Patisserie, Maya's Cookies and more. It also invites the community to take part in its weekly neighborhood farmers market, a free "Dancing in the Street" series, family movie nights and various holiday markets. "We've been very intentional about creating public spaces that bring together the things that make everyday life better, good food, wellness, art, culture, parks and community," Levitt added in a statement. There are other Trader Joe's locations in North County, including stores in Vista and Oceanside.

Food news of the week: A new vegan discount at Peet's, Buttercream Frosting gets an upgrade, and Anthony keidis' Red Velvet oat milk lattes.

Food news of the week: A new vegan discount at Peet's, Buttercream Frosting gets an upgrade, and Anthony keidis' Red Velvet oat milk lattes. Trader Joe's launches frozen mango sticky rice, Peet's unveils a new vegan meal deal, Uncle Eddie's new development, and more in this week's vegan food news. August 7, 2026 VegNews has officially reached the third and final month of summer (well, meteorologically speaking, anyway). If you're not a fan of the heat, you can breathe a sigh of relief - cooler days are just around the corner. But if you're not ready to let the summer dream die, there's still plenty of time to make the most of those balmy, sunny days. For inspiration, check out its ultimate guide to vegan summer. It's packed with everything from vegan paella recipes and the best ice cream makers to camping tips, refreshing fruit salads, and so much more. But before you dive in, it's time for this week's food news. From dreamy desserts and new baking goodies to exciting product launches, here's everything you need to know. Peet's Coffee Peet's launches new weekly vegan meal deal. If you're partial to a Peet's Coffee visit now and again, good news: The coffee chain has just announced Impossible Mondays. The new weekly meal deal includes a medium Baridi Cold Brew and the chain's Everything Plant-Based Sandwich, which is made with Impossible Sausage, vegan cheese, and Just Egg, for $9. VegNews'll be running to its closest location first thing Monday morning. Mango sticky rice lands at Trader Joe's. Mango sticky rice is a traditional Thai dessert made with (you guessed it) sweet sticky rice, ripe, juicy mango, and creamy coconut milk. It's a firm favorite across Thailand, beloved for its irresistible combination of textures and flavors. If you want to enjoy it at home, you can, of course, make it from scratch. But Trader Joe's new frozen version lets you savor the classic dessert with minimal effort. According to the grocery store chain, it partnered with an experienced mango supplier in Thailand to develop the product. Each box includes two servings of mango sticky rice, along with two packets of crunchy fried mung beans for sprinkling over the top. Dairy-free buttercream, glitter, and cake sprays hit Walmart and Target. Home bakers, this one is for you. Next-generation baking brand Piiper has launched a new line of innovative baking products in Target and Walmart. The Brownie Batter and Vanilla Vibes buttercream frostings, along with edible glitter and even colorful cake sprays, are all formulated without obvious animal ingredients, and the new company is in the process of evaluating third-party vegan certification, a spokesperson tells VegNews. "When creating PiiPER products, one of our goals was to inspire younger generations to stop doomscrolling and get creative in the kitchen," said Director of Product Development at PiiPER Ashley Vickery. "The Buttercream Frosting you can eat straight from the tub, the Edible Glitter, the Color Sprays; these were all designed around the idea that the process should be as exciting as the finished product." Red Hot Chili Peppers' Anthony Kiedis launches vegan red velvet oat milk lattes. Jolene Coffee, the coffee brand founded by Anthony Kiedis and Shane Powers in 2025, has unveiled three new canned vegan lattes made with oat milk. The new lineup includes Red Velvet, described as "coffee dessert in a can," Salted Caramel, where "cold brew meets salty sweetness," and Hazelnut, which the brand says delivers a "warm" and "nutty" flavor. Each drink is made with ethically sourced coffee beans that are slow-cold-brewed for 24 hours to reduce bitterness. The new vegan lattes join Jolene Coffee's existing lineup, which includes Jolene Black, a classic cold brew, and Jolene White, an oat milk latte. Uncle Eddie's Uncle Eddie's Vegan now sells individually wrapped vegan cookies. Beloved vegan cookie brand Uncle Eddie's Vegan has been baking its homemade organic treats in Southern California since the late 1990s. Over the years, it has earned a loyal following - and a well-deserved reputation for making some of the best vegan cookies around. Until now, if you were craving Uncle Eddie's Vegan's sweet treats, you had to buy them in 12-ounce bags. But the popular brand is now offering individually wrapped five-ounce bags of cookies on Amazon. Available flavors include Molasses, Oatmeal Raisin, Oatmeal Chocolate Chip, Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip, and Chocolate Chip with Walnuts. Customers can build their own box by mixing and matching any six bags.
