Summit Truck Bodies has introduced its 1229 Hydraulic Crane at CONEXPO-CON/AGG 2026, expanding its next-generation crane platform into heavy-duty applications. The crane delivers 12,000-pound lifting capacity with 29-foot reach whilst weighing 205 pounds less than previous models. Engineered for chassis with 26,000 GVWR and above, the 1229 features continuous rotation and fully proportional controls that enable picking and stowing three times faster than traditional systems. The weight reduction increases payload capacity for operators carrying tools and equipment. The crane employs a redesigned hexagonal boom profile and enclosed worm-and-gear rotate assembly with an 80,000 foot-pound rating. It's compatible with Summit's ASE Phase 5 Control System, which provides predictive diagnostics and real-time monitoring. Production begins in Q2 2026.
