The Arlington, Virginia-based company said Tuesday it will support VHA's deployment of new community care healthcare and ancillary contracts. Awarded through the VHA Veteran Community Care Program Support blanket purchase agreement, the task order covers contract oversight, utilization management, clinical and program guidance, and network performance monitoring. Tria will also help develop an alternative payment model. Tim Borchert, CEO of Tria Federal, said the VA is under constant pressure to do more with fewer resources while maintaining the standard of care veterans earned through their service. Tria's previous five-year BPA covered acquisition strategy, proposal preparation and requirements development for VHA's largest national community care contracts. The company has also supported other VA missions, including software engineering and development work for the department's Financial Services Center under a five-year, $174 million recompete awarded in 2025. How has VHA Community Care expanded? Tria Federal said the community care program now accounts for more than $50 billion in annual VHA spending, compared with less than $2 billion when it began supporting the work more than a decade ago. Community-based care currently represents more than 45 percent of veteran healthcare encounters and is projected to exceed 50 percent in the next few years. The task order supports VHA's Restructure for Impact and Sustainability Effort, or RISE, which is intended to reorganize VHA operations and bring direct and community care functions together.
