Truepic builds authenticity infrastructure for the internet by providing transparency tools that reveal the origin and editing history of digital content. Its products let users verify where a digital image or video came from, who created it, and what edits have been made, so viewers can judge whether something is authentic or computer-generated. The technology works by attaching verifiable metadata and provenance to media, and by offering verification services that can be accessed by consumers, businesses, creators, and publishers to check content before trusting it. Truepic differentiates itself from competitors by focusing on end-to-end transparency for digital media and practical verification tools used across a variety of audiences, not just technical users. The company’s goal is to help people make informed decisions about digital content and protect the integrity of media online, enabling trust in media by showing its origin and editing history.

SAN DIEGO, Nov. 19, 2024 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Truepic , the enterprise solution for digital content authenticity, today announced that it has been named to Fast Company’s fourth annual Next Big Things in Tech list, honoring technology advancements that have a profound impact. YouTube is rolling out new rules that will require creators to disclose to viewers when realistic content is made with altered or synthetic media, including generative artificial intelligence (GenAI). These disclosures will be displayed to viewers as labels in the expanded description, in most cases, the video sharing platform said in a Monday (March 18) blog post. For videos having to do with health, news, elections, finance and other sensitive topics, the labels will be shown prominently on the video itself. “The new label is meant to strengthen transparency with viewers and build trust between creators and their audience,” YouTube said in the post
