Trunk Tools, an AI-powered construction data platform, has integrated with Autodesk Forma to help construction teams manage document-intensive workflows. The integration connects Trunk Tools' AI agents to project data stored in Forma Data Management, enabling real-time document analysis and automated workflow handling. The platform offers several AI agents, including TrunkText for natural language document searches, TrunkSubmittal for automated submittal compliance checks, and TrunkReview for analysing drawing changes. These tools are now available to Autodesk Forma users through the Autodesk App Store. Trunk Tools is deployed across hundreds of US jobsites. Cleveland Construction reported the platform provides junior engineers with expertise equivalent to five-plus years of experience whilst catching issues senior staff might miss. The integration aims to help construction teams extract more value from project data and reduce manual review time.

Trunk Tools CEO Sarah Buchner says AI can eliminate roughly $1 trillion annually in construction rework caused by clashing data across the four million pages of documentation behind a single skyscraper. The company builds knowledge graphs from unstructured construction data and trains its own models on proprietary drawings that off-the-shelf large language models have never seen. Trunk Tools deploys a new AI agent approximately every two weeks to address waste in the construction industry.
