Tusker, a Chicago-based technology solutions provider, has acquired Fortress SRM, a Cleveland cybersecurity firm founded in 2018. The deal adds approximately 50 cybersecurity professionals to Tusker's team and establishes the company's sixth regional hub. Fortress SRM serves customers across Ohio, northern Michigan, and Wisconsin, offering security consulting, virtual CISO leadership, managed security, incident response, digital forensics, and a 24/7 Security Operations Centre. This marks Tusker's fifth acquisition since 2017 and its first since consolidating its portfolio companies under the Tusker brand earlier this year. The acquisition expands Tusker from its origins as a Chicago IT hardware distributor to a full-stack technology provider with over 400 employees across regional hubs including Chicago, Boston, Green Bay, Duluth, Eau Claire, and now Cleveland.

ACP CreativIT has rebranded as Tusker as it pursues national expansion and additional acquisitions. CEO Matt Zafirovski said the rebrand responds to employee feedback requesting a unified identity across the organisation. The company is positioning itself as a national solutions provider with local delivery capabilities. The rebranding comes as Tusker mounts a national sales initiative and explores further acquisitions to expand its footprint. Quarterly employee surveys identified rebranding as the top priority, with staff seeking a cohesive company identity as the business scales.
