Unified Patents provides analytics and dispute-resolution tools for intellectual property through a membership model. It serves tech companies, law firms, and others involved in patent litigation with post-grant analytics, patent quality comparisons (APIX, CITX, BRIX), and PATROLL-based prior-art crowdsourcing. Its ISIX metric tracks law firm success at the PTAB and it offers free patent dispute data to aid decision-making and deter weak patents. By offering crowdsourced prior art and a broad toolkit, it helps clients reduce risk and costs in patent disputes and post-grant proceedings.

Anaqua, a provider of intellectual property management technology, has acquired Unified Patents, which specialises in IP risk mitigation and intelligence solutions. Financial terms were not disclosed. The deal aims to address escalating IP litigation risks facing organisations. Since 2023, increased activity from non-practicing entities and a rise in standard-essential patent disputes have driven up licensing and litigation costs. Unified Patents operates a membership model serving over 300 members across technology sectors including artificial intelligence, cloud computing, and cybersecurity. The company monitors patent assertion activity, challenges weak patents, and negotiates royalty-free licences. Kevin Jakel, co-founder and CEO of Unified Patents, joins Anaqua as chief intellectual property strategist. Co-founder Shawn Ambwani becomes senior vice president and head of Unified Patents.
