This company helps the biggest crypto holders put their assets to work in safe and new ways. It provides a platform and services that let large hodlers access secure options to use their crypto beyond simply holding it, such as earning yield or enabling structured transactions while keeping strong security. The product works by giving trusted, secure tools and processes that protect the holdings and control how they are used, so users can deploy their crypto in approved, productive ways rather than just keeping it idle. What sets it apart from competitors is its explicit focus on scale and security for the largest holders, offering tailored, high-security options that address the needs of big investors rather than everyday traders. The company’s goal is to unlock and maximize the value of large crypto portfolios by enabling secure, compliant, and practical uses of their holdings.

Coinbase appoints longtime executive as Chief Technology Officer. On the money. Lily Morris Contributing Writer Rob Witoff has been appointed Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of Coinbase, taking responsibility for the company's technology strategy and engineering organization after returning to the cryptocurrency exchange in late 2024. As CTO, Witoff will lead Coinbase's engineering efforts with a focus on scaling the platform for developers as artificial intelligence increasingly transforms software development. In announcing his appointment, he said his goal is to make Coinbase "the world's best platform for builders," while building on the company's engineering culture and pace of innovation. Witoff is one of Coinbase's earliest engineering leaders, having joined the company in 2014 as its first infrastructure engineer. During his initial tenure, he served as Director of Infrastructure & Security before becoming Chief Architect, helping define Coinbase's original technical vision alongside its founders and leading the development of its cloud infrastructure, security, and engineering capabilities. After leaving Coinbase in 2017, Witoff joined Google, where he worked in Detection & Response Engineering. He later co-founded institutional cold storage and staking company Unit 410, serving as CEO from 2018 until Coinbase acquired the business. Witoff returned to Coinbase in November 2024 as Head of Platform, joining the company's executive team before being named CTO. CxOs on the Move is brought to you by Celigo.
