Overview
United Way for Greater Austin is a nonprofit that mobilizes community resources to improve people’s lives in the Greater Austin area. It runs fundraising campaigns, partners with local nonprofits, schools, and service providers, and coordinates volunteers to address community needs. Its work includes funding programs and services in areas like education, health, and financial stability, evaluating results to ensure real community impact. The organization differentiates itself by coordinating across many local partners, focusing on collaborative solutions rather than delivering services directly, and by using community data to guide where donations go. The goal is to strengthen the region by helping individuals and families access opportunities, achieve stability, and build a healthier, more connected community.
