It handles the full development lifecycle—from site acquisition to interconnection and commercialization—and sells electricity to utilities and corporate buyers. Since Brookfield Renewable acquired the company in 2022, Urban Grid operates its assets as an independent power producer while retaining its brand, and it maintains a large pipeline of projects across multiple states, including agrivoltaics for dual land use. Its goal is to deliver reliable clean power by developing, financing, and operating high-quality solar and storage projects for utilities, co-ops, municipalities, and corporate buyers.
