Vālenz Health has appointed Vince Cole as chief executive officer to accelerate growth and guide the company's expansion. Vālenz helps employers, insurers and members manage self-funded health plans through an integrated system focused on cost reduction and care quality. Cole brings over 30 years of healthcare and insurance leadership experience. He most recently served as CEO of Ontellus, the nation's largest medical and legal records retrieval business, and previously held CEO roles at Charles Taylor and Crawford & Company. Cole succeeds Rob Gelb, who will transition to non-executive chairman after leading Vālenz for seven and a half years through organic growth and eight acquisitions. The appointment follows a succession process aimed at positioning the company for its next growth phase. Vālenz is backed by private equity firm Kelso & Company.
Vālenz Health has launched Variable Copay, a value-based health plan design that guides members towards high-value, low-cost care options. The solution uses the proprietary Valenz Bluebook price transparency platform to map over 2,000 medical procedures to predictable copays, targeting approximately 46% of medical spend with an estimated 7–12% overall savings for employers. Variable Copay is part of ValenzONE, the company's full-service health plan optimisation platform. The system combines dynamic copay design with proactive navigation, data-driven insights and integrated bundling solutions to support better outcomes and cost savings. The solution is currently available for integration with existing health plan networks as a standalone offering or as part of the comprehensive ValenzONE platform.
Valenz Health has completed its acquisition of Healthcare Bluebook, merging their strengths to create a unified platform for healthcare cost and quality navigation. This integration aims to simplify healthcare, enhance member engagement, and improve payment integrity. Both companies will combine their data and functionality over time to offer better client services while maintaining current products and outcomes. Financial details of the acquisition were not disclosed.
