Vertex Partnership Academies runs a tuition-free public charter high school in the Soundview section of the Bronx. It delivers an International Baccalaureate program for all students, offering the IB Middle Years Programme in grades 9-10 and a choice between the IB Diploma Programme or the IB Career-related Programme in grades 11-12; the curriculum emphasizes Socratic seminars, rigorous writing, and ethics guided by the four virtues of Courage, Justice, Temperance, and Wisdom. Admissions are by lottery with preferences for partner-school students, siblings, and local residents, on a nonprofit, publicly funded model co-founded by Ian Rowe. The school aims to prepare students for college and careers through a values-based, college-prep, career-ready IB education in a community-school setting.
