WEbook.com is a digital marketplace that combines entertainment, travel, and sports experiences in one app, allowing users to discover and book tickets, restaurant and hotel reservations, flights, and access to sports facilities. It works by bundling multiple services into a single platform with features like ticket auctions, a resale marketplace, anti-scalping, social channels, live chat, and live streaming to create an interactive experience; it earns revenue from ticket sales and booking fees, while event organizers can use WEbook Pro with varied pricing and marketing tools. Its differentiation comes from the integrated suite of services, community-focused features, and interactive elements that go beyond traditional ticketing or travel apps, supported by partnerships to expand distribution. The company aims to reach a billion-dollar valuation and pursue an IPO, expanding from Saudi Arabia into Europe and other markets while growing both consumer experiences and organizer tools.

Webook.com acquires SmartMove and expands across Europe. June 26, 2026 Webook.com has acquired the Portuguese company SmartMove, specialized in partner management, ticketing systems, access control, fan engagement, e-commerce and digital event operations. The acquisition marks a major milestone in Webook.com's international expansion strategy, establishing its first operational base in Europe and positioning the platform, designed to serve the world's most demanding events, to expand its technology, partnerships, and event operations across the continent. With more than 30 years in the market, SmartMove is one of the most established sports technology companies in Portugal. A market leader in its segment, the company provides the technology infrastructure that underpins the ticketing platforms and partner programs of the leading Portuguese clubs, as well as the Portuguese Football Federation (FPF), Liga Portugal, national cup competitions and corporate ticketing platforms. At the heart of this activity is the management of the clubs' member programs, known in Portugal as "Sócios", which represent an essential source of revenue and, often, are a prerequisite for fans to purchase tickets to matches. Therefore, SmartMove's platform holds a structural position in the commercial operations of Portuguese football. "The acquisition of SmartMove gives us something that cannot be built overnight: a consolidated presence and operational excellence at the heart of the European market", said Nadeem Bakhsh, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of webook.com. "Together, we are prepared to reinvent the live events booking experience for fans and organizers". SmartMove's capabilities complement Webook.com's current strengths and offer true fans an easy and enjoyable ticket-buying experience. Together, the two platforms create a comprehensive offering for the Super App for Fun of webook.com, aimed at sports clubs, venues, events, festivals, restaurants, experience operators, flights, hotels and much more across Europe. The acquisition provides Webook.com with an experienced European team accustomed to operating under the highest standards and ready to grow in a continent that hosts one of the world's largest and most sophisticated live entertainment ecosystems. The operation has already led to new deals with clubs and major event organizers. António Precatado, SmartMove's chief executive officer, commented: "We have consolidated our position by becoming an essential component for the operation of Portuguese football and other sports, from membership enrollment to ticket sales and day-of-game access. With the backing of the platform, the investment and the international network of webook.com, we can now bring this model to clubs and venues across Europe". After reaching more than 17 million users in more than 180 countries and processing more than 40 million ticketing transactions, webook.com is accelerating its European presence in professional football, motorsports, live entertainment and fan experiences. Saudi platform enters Portuguese market to buy Smartmove for selling tickets in Europe. The acquisition aims at entering the European market. Webook will now set up a strategic hub in Lisbon, planning to hire new workers for the team. The Saudi technology platform Webook, operating in the entertainment and experiences sectors, came shopping to Portugal and acquired a majority stake in Smartmove, a Portuguese company with over 30 years of experience in digital ticketing solutions and sports fan management. According to a press release sent to newsrooms, the Saudi Arabia platform officially enters the European market through Lisbon, establishing its European strategic hub in the Portuguese capital. "From Portugal, the Saudi tech aims to accelerate the expansion of its offer to sports clubs, event organizers, venues, festivals and entertainment operators across Europe," reads the statement. The value and percentage of the Smartmove acquisition were not disclosed. The technology platform, which currently has 17 million users spread across 180 countries, plans to strengthen its engineering team in Portugal with new hires to develop new artificial intelligence solutions to combat ticket fraud and optimize the experience at large-scale events. Smartmove operates in Portugal, Brazil, and other international markets. In Portugal, it is responsible for the technological infrastructure supporting ticketing, membership programs, and digital platforms for clubs such as Sporting Clube de Portugal and Futebol Clube do Porto, as well as the Portuguese Football Federation and Liga Portugal. In the past year alone, Webook processed over 25 million ticket reservations, designed to handle two million users in a single queue and sell 90,000 tickets per event. Now, with the purchase of Smartmove, the Saudi platform wants to create a "Super App for Fun" for Europe. That is, integrate events, flights, hotels, and dining into a single platform for various European countries, like merging Booking with Ticketline and Blueticket. This idea was already outlined last April when Webook launched its strategy for the coming years. Quoted in the same press release, Nadeem Bakhsh, CEO of Webook, states that "the acquisition of Smartmove gives us something that cannot be built overnight: credibility and operational excellence in the heart of the European market. We operate with the DNA of a Silicon Valley startup and are ready to take the live event and entertainment booking experience for both fans and organizers in Europe to a new level." Already, António Precatado, general director of the Portuguese company that was bought, recalls that Smartmove earned its "position by becoming essential to the operation of Portuguese football and other sports, ranging from membership management to ticketing and access control on game day." Now, with the support of the Saudi technology platform, but also "[with] the investment and international network of Webook, we can now take this successful model to clubs and venues throughout Europe."

Saudi Arabia's Webook introduces TruFan. Riyadh-headquartered Webook has launched TruFan, an AI-driven framework designed to streamline access to live events. TruFan places identity, fan score, trust and transparency at the core of ticketing. It leverages algorithmic intelligence, machine learning and behavioural analysis to evaluate fan engagement across the platform, including attendance patterns, participation and community interaction. The system is able to identify genuine fans and prioritises them during high-demand releases, according to Webook. TruFan does not only cater for fans that already exist on Webook, but extends to clubs and organisers' VIP fan circles that exist outside of the ticketing environment. TruFan will be rolled out in phases throughout 2026, with continued expansion expected across event categories and international markets following successful pilots in Q1 and Q2. The feature builds on Webook's achievement of reaching 80% clean transactions during major ticket releases, thanks to AI algorithms and machine learning systems. "Ticketing didn't just need optimisation, it needed a reset, and finally now, technology has caught up to protect fans against scalpers," said Nadeem Bakhsh, chief executive of Webook. "We've spent years reducing fraud and controlling resale, but fairness is not only about blocking bad actors, it's about rewarding genuine fans. TruFan is built on that principle." In November, Webook was announced as exclusive ticketing partner for Beast Land, an immersive attraction from American Youtuber Mr Beast, as part of Riyadh Season 2025 which ran until March.
