WellPower, Colorado's largest community mental health centre, has opened a Medication-Assisted Treatment Walk-In Clinic in Denver to provide immediate, low-barrier care for people experiencing opioid use disorder or withdrawal. The clinic offers same-day support without appointments. The evidence-based model combines peer supporters with lived recovery experience, pharmacists and mental health clinicians. Services include same-day medication for withdrawal symptoms, short-term prescriptions and referrals to ongoing treatment programmes. Located at WellPower's Recovery Centre at 4455 E. 12th Ave., the clinic currently operates Wednesdays from 1:00 to 16:30, with plans to expand hours. The initiative responds to rising overdose deaths in Colorado and Denver. WellPower serves over 22,000 individuals annually across 30 sites and nearly 200 community locations.
WellPower, which provides mental health services and homeless outreach in Denver, is combining with Jefferson Center, the safety-net mental health organization for Jefferson, Clear Creek and Gilpin counties.
