Overview

Wellways is an Australian nonprofit that works with people affected by mental health issues or disability, and their families and carers, to build independent lives in the community. Its programs include mental health recovery, suicide prevention and housing support, alongside Carer Gateway respite and counselling for carers. Local teams combine clinical and peer support, drawing on lived experience, and work in homes, residential settings and community services. Government funding, participant service payments and donations support its services. Founded in 1978 by families seeking better mental health support, Wellways has its head office in Fairfield, Victoria.
