ROI-NJ Staff(East Brunswick) June 1, 2026 Accounting firm WilkinGuttenplan said May 29 that Chief Marketing Officer Karen Waga has been named marketer of the year by the Association for Accounting Marketing (AAM), a national organization dedicated to advancing marketing and business development within the accounting profession. The AAM Marketer of the Year award recognizes a marketing professional who has demonstrated exceptional leadership, innovation, and measurable impact within their firm and the broader accounting industry. In her role at WilkinGuttenplan, Waga has led a more strategic, integrated approach to CPA firm marketing strategy by strengthening the company's brand, elevating its digital marketing presence, and aligning business development efforts more closely with practice group goals. WilkinGuttenplan is partnering with Rowan University of Glassboro to support the post-baccalaureate certificate of accounting CPA Apprenticeship Program. This collaboration is designed to provide aspiring accountants with a pathway to a CPA license through hands-on experience and academic excellence.The CPA program at Rowan, through the school’s Rohrer College of Business, offers students a cost-effective route to complete the 150-credit requirement for CPA licensing process while gaining experience at East Brunswick-based WilkinGuttenplan. Apprentices will receive mentorship, financial support, and on-the-job training to prepare them for careers in accounting.WilkinGuttenplan has similar partnerships with Fairleigh Dickinson University and Rider University.
