Winthrop Technologies receives British Safety Council International Safety Award. Winthrop Technologies is proud to have received the International Safety Award from the British Safety Council, recognising outstanding Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) performance at its project site in Amsterdam. The 2026 International Safety Awards recognise organisations worldwide for excellence in preventing workplace injuries and illness, and for promoting overall wellbeing. Winthrop's achievement highlights the exemplary safety standards maintained and the robust safety record delivered despite an incredibly complex working environment. Located adjacent to the Schiphol Airport runway, the Amsterdam project operated under highly constrained conditions. The team successfully navigated strict airport controls and limited crane lift windows that were frequently rescheduled or cancelled due to changing air traffic. Through close coordination with airport authorities, the project team continuously adapted construction activities, ensuring safe operations while maintaining steady project progress. The award was accepted by Niall Tuffy, Regional H&S Manager, and Sean O'Sullivan, Project Manager, on behalf of the Amsterdam project team. "The British Safety Council applauds Winthrop on this achievement," said Mike Robinson, Chief Executive of the British Safety Council.
