Wipfli provides accounting, business consulting, technology, and advisory services to organizations. It grew from a 1930s single-accounting shop into a national firm with separate attest (Wipfli LLP) and advisory (Wipfli Advisory LLC) practices, combining traditional accounting with strategy, technology, and industry-specific expertise (including tribal and gaming accounting). Its growth comes from a mix of steady expansion, acquisitions, and a 2025 minority investment from New Mountain Capital to fund talent, geographic reach, and further acquisitions. The firm differentiates itself by blending accounting with advisory services across industries and offering specialized niches, aiming to help clients improve performance, manage risk, and grow.

Tribal casinos in the US generated strong revenue growth in 2025, with average casino revenue increasing by $14 million, or 16% year over year, according to Wipfli's 28th Annual Indian Gaming Cost of Doing Business Report. However, rising operating costs limited profitability gains. The study of 113 tribal casinos across 18 states found that average operating expense margins increased from 73.59% to 74.50% of revenue, whilst average net profit margins declined from 26.12% to 24.50%. Despite margin compression, approximately 25 cents of every revenue dollar remains available to support tribal government programmes and community services. The report identified gaming revenue growth driven by strong customer demand, but noted widening performance gaps between urban and rural properties. Tribal gaming balance sheets remained healthy, allowing continued reinvestment in operations and communities.

Wipfli to host Elevate 2026 workshop for tribal gaming finance teams - CDC Gaming. Wipfli will host Elevate 2026: Streamlining the Path from Audit to Financials, a two-day in-person workshop designed for tribal gaming finance, audit and accounting leaders and team members August 26-27 at Graton Resort and Casino in Rohnert Park, California. Wipfli is a national accounting, tax, and advisory firm that works primarily with middle-market businesses across the United States. Elevate 2026 is a hands-on, end-to-end workshop focused on how tribal gaming organizations can improve accuracy, efficiency and control across the full revenue life cycle, from audit to financial reporting. The workshop is designed for organizations navigating increasing operational complexity, evolving technology and raising expectations around financial transparency and control. "Revenue processes in tribal gaming don't operate in silos, but are often managed that way," Wipfli Partner Grant Eve said in a statement. "Elevate 2026 is designed to bring audit, operations and finance together so teams can clearly see how decisions upstream affect reporting and controls downstream. That end-to-end understanding is critical as organizations move toward more automated environments and stronger risk management." Participants will work through entire revenue journeys and gain practical insights into how processes, people and technology intersect, including: * Gaming and non-gaming audits and how audit decisions influence downstream operations. * Cage operations and revenue flows, with an emphasis on strengthening controls and reducing risk. * Financial reporting alignment to help ensure operational activity translates into accurate, timely financials. * Transitioning from manual to automated environments without disrupting operations. * Change management strategies that support adoption across finance and operations teams. * The role of revenue audit software, DataBlend, and artificial intelligence in improving transparency, strengthening controls and reducing risk. The integrated approach is designed to help tribal gaming organizations "break down silos, improve consistency across teams and operate with greater confidence across the full revenue life cycle," according to a news release. Elevate 2026 is designed for tribal gaming professionals looking to improve internal controls, gain clarity on how audit and operations connect to financial reporting and better prepare their organizations for continued change. Continuing Professional Education credits will be available for eligible participants. Registration and additional event details are available here.
