YWCA Hartford Region

Non-profit advancing women's empowerment and justice

Overview

YWCA Hartford Region is a non-profit that runs programs to eliminate racism, empower women, and promote peace, justice, freedom, and dignity for all. It serves women, girls, and children in the Hartford region with early learning and school-age programs, activities for children during school closures, and initiatives that advance social justice and equality. Programs are delivered through community centers and partner organizations, focusing on social, emotional, and financial development and supported by volunteers and community networks. The organization differentiates itself by integrating racial justice work with women’s empowerment in a local, community-based setting, funded mainly through tax-deductible contributions, grants, fundraising events, and partnerships with local organizations. Its goal is to create opportunities for women and girls to realize their full potential and take control of their futures.
