Tokyo selects Yusen Logistics as freight forwarder for fuel initiative. Jun 2, 2026 at 8:48 AM Yusen Logistics has been selected by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government as a freight forwarder for a project aimed at promoting the use of sustainable aviation fuels (SAF) and biofuels in the logistics sector. The goal of the project is to reduce Scope 3 emissions generated by companies' supply chains, as stated by the company. As part of this initiative, the Tokyo Metropolitan Government supports companies that use SAF or biofuels for their air and sea freight transport by collaborating with selected freight forwarders. It covers all or part of the additional costs incurred from using these alternative fuels. The project started in fiscal year 2024 with a focus on air freight and was expanded to sea freight in fiscal year 2026. Collaboration for transport solutions.
